Ambiance is a little rough but you're not there for a candle lit dinner. The shrimp PoBoy is excellent and the bread is great. I got the red beans and rice instead of fries and it was spicy enough and a decent portion as just a cup. They get busy and the li e can get long but the food is hot and tasty when it arrives. A tasty little gem just down from the airport

I stop here today for the first time try this place out near IAH airport. I got the boudin balls and it comes with a side, so I got the red beans and rice. I could not consume the boudin balls, they where so salty, I'm sufe because the boudin is already high in sodium and they also season the breading flour mixture. Now for the red beans n rice, they were heavily salty also! They also taste like can ranch style beans with a lot of other season they tried to put in it for flavor, which made it more salty. Odd taste! I may come back to try a few other items, but not a good first impression.

Always bring clients here for lunch and dinner. It has become a staple as the food and service are great. It is nice bc you can get in and out fairly quickly for a sit down restaurant.

Been awhile since I have had the opportunity to eat here. This is a must stop when I am in the area. Flying out and made it to the hotel I time to make it happen this trip. First off this place is located in the back of a strip mall with plenty of parking which is a plus in this area. The service is local and usually great as the staff are a lot of fun. This is not a place you come for ambiance. You come for the great food. We were a group 5 and we were served quickly as can be expected since the food has to be prepared. I had the blackened tuna sandwich which is huge and the toppings blend all the seasonings together for a flavor explosion in your mouth. Awesome as usual. Then I had a side of gumbo. Wow never disappoints and definitely opens the sinuses but not in an overly hot way. Just flavorful. The other four members of the group were first timers and all were pleasantly surprised. They had the pulled chicken taco, Cajun Philly, and poor boys and all loved them. Again not a great looking place but a great tasting place.
Ordering thru DoorDash is a pain. Although the food is good, You'd be lucky if they get your order correct. They seem to always be out of everything and instead of communicating that to you like a normal business they'll just cancel what you ordered instead of offering a substitution, they don't read any of your requests and good luck with receiving anything as simple as plastic utensils or napkins ...this is my third try.

This place is outstanding! Had the catfish Opelousas on the recommendation of the chef and could not have been happier. Cooked to perfection with just the right amount of kick. The etouffe and dirty rice were the ideal complement. The gumbo was also excellent. If you're headed to the airport and have some time to kill, definitely hit up Gumbo Jeaux's!

Food Fantastic! Catfish had a sweet flavor that was tasty and delicious! Fries were hot which is always a plus. My husband had the poor boy which he loved. The portions were plentiful. Kudos to the cook!

Was not clean. Tables were sticky with crumbs and food all over the floor. I got a shrimp burger and it was burnt and not good. Also the fried catfish was not real catfish. It was the Swai fish.
