Never over fried and the tarter sauce is homemade. I also love the coleslaw (also made in house). Of course the yeast rolls are yummy too. We never leave here disappointed. Buffet/dining area closes at 8.

This is my third time coming here. The food is always great and the customer service was usually great, however in all of the three times that I have come here, they have been up charging me when I pay with my card. They tell me a price and then give me a receipt with a higher price. I’m not the confrontational type so I never confront them over what they’re doing, but I’m so disappointed over the scammy behavior that they’re doing. I won’t tell y’all to not come here because the place and the food is really good, but I will want you guys to know that before coming in here BRING CASH. If you’re planning on paying with card, be prepared to get charged with extra hidden service fees that will 1000% happen.Another note: they keep two receipts: one of them including the price that they tell you. And they give you a third smaller receipt with the up charge amount.

The Mexican lady at the drive thru window was rude when I asked for another cup to get a drink. She yelled. “We only give out one cup for the buffet” I decided not to cause a scene and I walked back to the table and there was a cup, I was able to get more refills. I also didn’t understand why they had the Mexican guy guarding the food.

I will admit I was pleasantly surprised! It has been 15 years since I have eaten at a Hartz. I moved back to Houston six months ago and it has been on my mind. Now admittedly, most of the locations need a freshening up on the decor and aesthetics. Clearly there has not been a change or update to the brand so the places look like they are out of the 90s. That being said, this location was very clean and well-staffed. I went at lunch, and the food was hot and fresh and the buffet area was being kept clean and restocked by employees. The food was pretty good for what I was expecting! If you are needing a fried chicken and catfish fix, this place might be for you. There were lots of delicious country sides as well. They even had chicken and dumplings, baked chicken, and fried chicken livers. And again, the food was fresh and hot and the place was clean and neat. That is about all you can ask for these days. There is also a machine by the door for free ice cream cones as you leave (if you by chance have any room left in your belly). So, I would highly recommend this place if you just have that hankering to buss down on some good old southern cooking and then take a long nap! For the buffet and drink I paid $14.99.

I have been trying to fill a "Hartz" sized hole in my heart with other buffets. Nowhere can I find such a satisfying buffet of good value. Everything is fresh and delicious just like it has been for years. The buffet cost 14$ including beverage! I love this buffet
