It was our first time here and I have to say the experience was amazing. From the food to the service was top notch! Our server Martin was training a new employee who was doing a great job as well. Martin was professional and helpful towards us and his trainee; made some great recommendations. We were to full for desert so we came back a few hours later for coffee and desert and requested Martin who created us with a smile and amazing customer service! Will definitely be back; thanks Martin!

Creative, tasty food served with some panache. Service is welcoming and attentive, and the space is cozy with lots of booth seating which I prefer above tables. But good gosh on a Sunday morning at 10;30 am for a brunch with friends does anyone want to have Motown and 60s girl group music loudly playing on built in speakers above their booth? I didn't. And though the hostess moved us to a bit quieter booth it was still pretty annoying until it was turned down about halfway through our meal when another table complained to the day manager. And a small but equally annoying practice there it seems - though for the first hour we were there the restaurant was 2/3 empty, the hostess sat all the arriving parties right next to each other rather than spacing us out. No one was obnoxiously loud, but being on top of each other - when several parties were big and lively - in a half full restaurant meant we all could hear each other and it was a bit frustrating because so unnecessary. But a sophisticated venue with excellent food and I would go back for sure.

Restaurant is very pretty and welcoming. Service was very slow. It took over 20 minutes to get our 6 oyster appetizer! Drinks were slow, too. Did not appear to have any backup or bus help for wait staff. Our waiter was trying but was clearly overwhelmed. I noticed the same issue for many other tables. Food was ok, but not worth the wait or hype. Not sure we will go back. Disappointed.

There were 4 of us for 5:45 dinner so not an unusually large table and we're not demanding. We kept waiting for our drinks ordered before our meal. Drinks ordered before our meal were served after our meal was served. The waiter that brought the meal just said it was busy and he was sure they would be coming. The meal was good, but the waiter did not check to make sure everything was correct and we needed to send one entree back as it was not cooked enough. It was eventually corrected, but not very timely. Overall, the food was good not incredible, and the service was ok. We may try it again in a few months, but it's not a favorite place at this time.

Since I've moved back to Houston from Dallas and having only been to HH in Dallas, so thrilled Hudson House came to Houston. It's up there with Hillstone consistency for me. Highly recommend to anyone who hasn't tried. Lobster roll is top notch and can't really miss with anything on the menu.

Ordered French press coffee and was told by our waiter there was no electricity to grind the coffee for brunch. Spoke to the Manager and she said it was not true and made a French press for brunch. Our waiter not only lied but, he could not follow and directions as simple as need cream and silverware. Requested fries instead of roasted potatoes and my order came with roasted potatoes. Terrible service and no one really cares! Food came out warm. The Hudson House in Dallas is much better in service.

We had reservations. We are super tall people, sat at a mini booth. We asked the hostess if we could grab a regular booth and were told no. Several booths stayed open during the meal. The Paloma is smoky and there's no warning. My husband didn't drink it and the waiter didn't ask about it. We will skip sushi next time and go for something else. The seared ahi salad, truffle fries, and lobster roll were all phenomenal. Service...our waiter reached through hands and was somewhat inattentive. Food is really good for the most part. Service needs adjustment.

Great service at the bar and delicious cosmos. Moved to a table for dinner. Chase was our server and did a fabulous job. He was attentive but not annoying. The French chicken was okay, but the chicken parm was great.

The bathrooms needed paper products at 5:30 pm and I feel like this should be addressed well in advance of dinner reservations. The server started off nice until we ordered drinks and then she seemed irritated that one of us wasn't familiar with smoky mezcal. Then she said you didn't have freshly squeezed grapefruit juice, which is on your menu for a mixed drink. So she was going to double check. Then she brought out the drink without explaining if it was actually freshly squeezed juice or not and set it down and walked off. My guest actually wanted to order a splash of it instead of the drink the way it's normally made full of juice. So then my guest didn't dare ask for club soda so I order it for her to pour into her drink to make it the way she had wanted it in the first place. Then the waitress came around to clean up the table and poured the club soda bottle into the empty glass of ice so she could take the bottle. We clearly were not using the glass of ice previously so she should have just left the bottle alone, especially since I had just moved it toward me intentionally so that she wouldn't touch it. The food was decent but I'd likely choose a different place the next time I take out of town guests to dinner.

I love Hudson House, but the service could have been improved. Drinks took a very long time to arrive and the server didn't ask us if we were going to make a main entrée order at all so when we asked right before close time, she was shocked and mentioned that the kitchen was going to close in two minutes. Would have expected her to ask us before that point...Will come back though.

The food and servers were outstanding. However, we had a 7:15 reservation and did not get seated until 7:45 after we found a spot at the bar. The hostess was very apologetic. Overall great place!

It was annoying that the Happy Hour special (discounted drinks) was not honored because we were sitting in a booth rather than at the crowded bar. We did not know this until after we were seated. Because we were dining early (5:15) the restaurant was empty -only one other couple seated other than the crowded bar & a few tables outside. The outside tables could take advantage of the drink specials?? This made no sense to us. Food & service were good otherwise.

Jordan was an excellent server. we ordered oysters from the Northeast and they came with a wonderful and different mignonette with small red peppers which went very well with the oysters as well as the Sauvignon Blanc. Salads and steak frites were both very good and the wines by the glass plentiful. All in all very well done and an excellent place to meet for lunch or dinner.

Delicious food and the chocolate desert was rich and decadent. I would come back.
