Sushi was just ok. Service was slow, we waited 10 minutes for someone to come to our table and bring menus.

The restaurant layout itself is pretty crowded and small, but I personally didn't mind it. It's more like a traditional Japanese setting, so I liked it. Because they were quite busy when we went, I had to keep asking to refill my water, and they kept forgetting orders or accidentally bringing other people's orders. The seaweed salad was good. Their tempura selection was very diverse, but I wish the dipping sauce it came in was more flavorful. For all of their fried options, the batter and the fry were very delicious and perfectly well made.Wheelchair accessibility: Because the seating is very tight, I find it hard for people who use wheelchairs to move around easily.

I mentioned my brother has allergies from the beginning and got recommended certain dishes that don't contain pork or fish. However half way through the meal a server mentioned all things are grilled together so it doesn't matter what you order, everything will get contaminated. There's no warning or clear understanding from wait staff that this is the situation. Extremely haphazard cleanliness and lackluster attitude from staff. I was told "you know you've come to a sushi restaurant?!", like it's my problem they can't make a beef dish without fish or pork involved.Dietary restrictions: Doesn’t care about allergies and won’t accommodate at all. Zero food options if you have any fish or pork allergies. Will mislead you about food options until after you’ve ordered.

Everything was absolutely delicious. Pricy for what it was but still delicious. More of a special occasion thing for me just based on price not atmosphere.

Great rolls (Memorial, Rainbow), loved tuna tar tar, great food for kids (chicken skewers, beef skewers).P.S. Came here with kids at 5:15 pm on a Saturday and grabbed the last available table.

Food is good but the take out process/service is beyond terrible. We take out from here about once a week. My average hold time on the phone is 15 minutes, if they ever even answer (many times we will call for 15 minutes with nobody picking up, so we order elsewhere). The curbside process was sloppy - they now have you go inside, which is probably an improvement, but their entire process of taking orders for takeout is beyond terrible. It's a shame because the food is good, but they must lose alot of business, and generally irritate people, with the terrible take out ordering process/service.

I’ve had sushi all over the country and didn’t think there was a huge difference in freshness at the top places, until I ate here. I don’t know what they do, but it caught me off guard with how fresh it was. This was a random recommendation and I’ll likely be returning next time I’m in Houston!

Cool little restaurant. Got seated outdoors in a comfortable shaded area with a heater. The servers were polite and nice. I just didn't like the food. Damage was mushy, not firm. Miso soup was bland. Yaki Tori with negima had a weak; I had it with sauce, and the sauce flavor dominated over the grilled chicken and onion. Portion size was small, too, but I assume that's just a bar thing.

I came here for lunch one day last month. Food was fantastic. There were a lot of customers. The restaurant is very small inside and it was very crowded. I felt a little claustrophobic.

I came here for a staff meeting. I have seen Izakaya Wa 和 on newspaper ad before but just didn't know it's located in the busy Memorial and Beltway area. The building is kind of quaint. I just don't understand how the parking lot was formed. There is a small fenced parking lot in front of the entrance. In front of that, there are several takeout only spots.Certain days, the big old beer truck parked on the side of building which causing difficulties to maneuver for parking. GPS still shows 2 entrances on Boheme Drive, but there is only one.Food was really delicious. I ordered Salmon Teriyaki Teishoku. It came with a generous amount of fresh spring salad with miso dressing, a mound of steamed rice, 4 slices of salmon and a side of cucumber salad. Presentation was appealing. However, everything on a serving tray took up space on a small square table for four of us.Besides the entrees, we ordered some edamame and karaage chicken pieces to share. There should be salt shaker to season those appetizers. We only found Shichimi Togarashi (a spicy powdered assortment of dried chili peppers and other seasonings). The bottle looked old and greasy. But the spices were still fresh.Overall, I don't mind to come back to try other dishes. I heard the menu changes often. I know dinner and weekends are the busiest. I would come back during lunch for sure.
