The food and portions were good, but as a first timer, it was confusing. It would be nice if the à la cart items had prices on them.

It’s a cafeteria so adjust your expectations; solid comfort food but nothing aesthetic in the place, which is part of the charm. Luby’s was a Texas staple from my childhood, so I am probably biased because of nostalgia, but this location had the same old school cafeteria vibes was I remember. I’ve had the same order for decades (they do have healthier options like salad these days but I always get the Luanne platter chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, fried okra, and jalapeño cornbread), and it was solid here. Servers were funny and helpful, too.

This use to be a good location, it's horrible now, Randy the manager doesn't move with urgency when you ask him for something, then he questioned me about my gravy that was on the ticket, he said it wasn't, then I didn't get my son's bread or my garlic bread that I paid for... Why the 1.00 charge for to go, if I got good customer service I wouldn't mind. The styrofoam was just fine.

My first introduction to Luby’s was with my grandmother. She likes to take the bus and tote us along for the ride. We looked forward to the kids plate with fried fish, Mac and cheese and jello. Fast forward till now. Grandma passed but my memories of eating here and taking her to the doctor and stopping here live on. It am glad it’s still here and the new owner kept it going. Many elderly and singles rely on this food after a long day at the VA or for medical appointments, or they do not have family over the holidays to cook for them. I enjoy roast beef and Salisbury steak, fries fish’s and the wide variety of sides. Excellent service and always clean. Maybe it will be around a bit longer for me to eat at when my husband and I want homemade tasting, ready to eat food. Thank you.

Just picked up food. When we got home I had to throw it out. I have NEVER had such inedible food. I mean, I will eat almost anything. We were starving. How is the bacon cheese steak dry? WTH??? I normally is a bit greasy with lots of bacon flavor. It was a dry meat patty with dried up cheese and zero flavor. Okay...cabbage. How can you mess that up? It was mushy and had this putrid flavor...can't put my finger on it. Husband tried it, and spit it out too. He agreed something was wrong. Mac and cheese CERTAINLY that was good? Right? Nope a mushy, flavorless, no cheese taste white-ish paste. Disgusting! Okay...so yams? How can you mess up candied yams? They were hard--completely undercooked. It was as if they ran out and tried to chop up some raw yam and miss it with some left over potato---BONE dry, too! No brown sugar or butter...marshmellow...nothing. Just smashed yams sprinkled with some cinnamon (barely)...again inedible. What was left...the bread. Well, it was BURNT! HOw are rolls burned? It was rock hard with super dark edges. Just shameful. We might use them as a hockey puck later. My husband's was slightly better but his chopped steak didn't even have gravy on it---huh? $50.00????? Are you kidding me? My husband poked at his food. I through out all of mine. He ended up going to Logan's and getting me some food there. Luby's you should be ashamed of yourself serving this kind of poor quality. I wish I could get my money back. Luby's down there on 34th used to be delicious! It has truly gone down hill. The only saving grace was the man who helped my husband at pick up. I ordered the oxtails online and when we got there he informed us that they didn't have it. He stated it should have been removed from online ordering. That already was a double whammy. Didn't get what I ordered and when I go a substitute, it had be thrown away. Only thing that is good, was the carrot cake--just took a bite to see how terrible that was going to be. It was actually tasty. Will eat later. I will not EVER go back to Luby's. Waste of time travel and money.

It’s a cafeteria with home style food and my favorite little square fish . Service is always good. A little pricey but what’s not nowadays.
