We love this place! It's family owned and the prices are very fair with the food being very good portion sized! The indoor seating is ample, but not ideal for large parties. We had a party of 8 last time and there's no round tables like most bigger Chinese restaurants so with the food places linearly on the table, it's hard to get the food from one end when you're sitting on the opposite end. The staff isn't overly friendly but that's ok. I'm used to that at Asian establishments in Bellaire but it isn't the worst I've experienced. They have a 10% off for take out orders on Yelp but the last time I tried it, the staff never heard of it and wouldn't apply it even when I showed them the discount on the Yelp app.

excellent food! very nice staff. I would say the menu is more authentic Chinese than what I am used to and that was very refreshing! somewhat of a language barrier when requesting only white meat chicken in our order but nothing Google Translator couldn't fix. Highly recommend!

I've eaten at mamas kitchen several times both in person and take out! This one is dedicated to the take out meals- in the picture you have rolling juicy tofu with seafood and one of my favorite mama's kitchen fish!! The flavor and the spice level for both just complements each other and I can't stop eating rice with it! I've also had the beef with tofu as takeout and that's also amazing. Highly recommend! The service is fast in person, clean vibes with Chinese people serving Ambiance - nice family friendly, decent parking in the lot

One of my favorite sechuzan places in houston. Cute small restaurant and is always quiet inside. Their food is always delicious and never disappoint. Portion size is big, and each dish is enough for at least 2 people. This time, we got eggplant/green beans, Mr. & Mrs. Smith, diving fish, and dry fried intestines. If you haven't tried it yet, it's a true gem. I highly recommend to people and everyone liked this place so far!

This was the best regular priced Chinese food that we have had in a very long time. Everything was very fresh and very tasty. We had a beef dish and a chicken dish and they were great. Go here you will not be disappointed.

The last few years have seen an explosion of Chinese restaurants popping up all throughout the loop and most of them specialize in Sichuan cuisine. Of all the hot spots (#1), I find that Mama's Kitchen has been the most consistent and at times, one of the better options in this part of town. There are only a handful of parking spots out front and the plaza that it's located in is way smaller than it looks. That also means the interior is on the smaller side, but it's sufficient enough to handle big groups and intimate booths. It's a clean dining room and can probably fit up to 50 folks at once. It's rarely busy here, so I wouldn't worry too much about getting a table pending party size. I wish the adjacent lot was connected, which would alleviate some of the access issues from Richmond Ave.Interior and parking logistics aside, the food is the true highlight. Their variety is not too dissimilar from what's offered at the competing establishments around, but their execution and service is better overall. Their braised soft bacon (梅菜扣肉) is so fatty that it melts in the mouth, best enjoyed with rice. The salted egg yolk corn (金沙玉米) is simple compared to the rest of their dishes, but well done enough to where I'd order it over and over. Their broiled fish in hot oil (水煮魚) is soft and very authentic. One of the best things they serve is the braised red pork (紅燒肉) which is as homey and as savory / sweet as one would want. For non-spicy eaters, beware of the dishes that have a pepper listed next to it.As noted, the service is what sets them apart in my eyes from the rest. I realize that the catered audience is mainly non-Chinese, but that hasn't compromised the authenticity of the dishes in the least bit.__________(#1) Just all me Pun P.

Great location, no reservation needed and limited but available parking. Walked in on a Friday evening at 730 and was seated immediately. Staff was super friendly and attentive, consistently refilling our water. Food was sooo delicious and authentic. Be careful if you can't handle spice because it's definitely high levels of spice but the flavor profiles are incredible it's definitely worth it. My favorite was the cumin beef and the shrimp and beef sizzling pot. The pork belly was also very yummy but if you're not a fan of fatty meat maybe skip this one. Cabbage was nice and crispy as well. Would eat here anytime! Definitely recommend.

I've been on the North side for almost 2 I'm a South Side woman. Since I've been on this side I've been looking for a great burger place that's not salty that is well seasoned that know what they doing when they are in the kitchen. I looked up burger places near me and I seen this place and it just stuck out to me. I was upset when I read the reviews but I kept reading and I was like they say some good things about this place so I'm going to check it out. The man was nice friendly very attentive to the I'm going to say he know what he is doing. All the meals that I got was on point they was fresh well done seasoned well the chicken wings that we got BBQ and habanero was on point I mean they were crispy juicy and straight to the point hands down they were good. The burger with the egg added on and the bun toasted so what's marvelous. Then I got the BLT for later it was awesome. The freeze was not soggy they was not too hard they was not over season they was perfectly. Did he overheard my conversation with my daughter about the lemon pepper wings he let me try them and they were good they were point. I will recommend anyone to this place. I am a person that do reviews and I do them well every place I go to I do a review because treat me how you would want to be treated if you're not going to eat cold and nasty food do not serve it to me. When I say my food was hot fresh and ready thank you for a wonderful meal for me and my children. I will be returning soon. Oh and the food was not just sitting there it was freshly prepared when I ordered.

The ambiance is business casual with tasteful minimalist decor. The service was absolutely incredible !!! Our waitress was incredibly kind, sweet, and quick. She kept kindly checking up on us and when we over-ordered, she quickly canceled one of our dishes. The chefs were also very very fast and got the food out literally within 5 minutes of ordering. The food was SOOOOO GOOODDDD omggg. The peppercorns actually made our lips and mouths numb like they're supposed to, and the chilies were deliciously spicy and packed with flavor and umami. The food was a bit salty, but I was still a very happy little boy.

Good sichuan spot on Richmond in the greenway plaza area! Service is pretty good and food comes out fast. Definitely a family joint which I like. Sweet and sour fish was a big plate, large pieces of fried fish and the sauce was nicely sweet, definitely a pour on your rice kind of sauce. Intestines were very tasty and the dish had lots of other little bits in it like different veggies. Spicy chicken cubes are a sichuan staple for me and it was a large serving with lots of chicken. Nice and hot and very crispy, just wish the breading was a little less. I will be back!

Decided to try Mama's kitchen as i was too lazy to cook dinner at home. I thought it would be a good idea to just takeaway and eat while watching boxing match. On to the food reviews, I ordered their famous and recommended red braised pork and also cumin lamb with 2 portions of rice included. I freaking loved their red braised pork!!! Wow the sauce and seasoning was great, tender and juicy fat chunks of pork belly, balanced in terms of spiciness and saltness, just super oily. Extraordinary dish! For the lamb, I thought it was good but nothing really stands out about it. They were very generous with the portions too.I would recommend you guys to visit this establishment and try their red braised pork!!! A must... me myself i would definitely come back and have their red braised pork along with other dishes that i would love to try too. Not only great food and flavor, but also nice service, nice ambience and pretty cheap for the portions you get. Recommended!!!Food - 8/10Ambience 7/10Service 7/10Price 8/10

Looking for authentic Chinese cuisine in the Greenway Plaza area? Look no further than Mama's Kitchen! This cozy Chinese kitchen offers up dishes that rival those found in Houston Chinatown. From the Cooling Noodle to the Red Sauce Wontons, each dish is packed with flavor, thanks to the surprising addition of Szechuan peppercorn. For the main course, we couldn't resist trying the Three Cups Chicken, which was savory and satisfying, along with a delicious medley of veggies. However, the true star of the meal was the oh-so-crispy duck. It was cooked to perfection and left us wanting more.To top it off, the atmosphere at Mama's Kitchen is welcoming and authentic, with Cantonese music playing in the background. The overall experience transported me back to my time in China and left me feeling truly satisfied. Don't miss out on this slice of authentic Chinese cuisine in Greenway Plaza!
