This place is definitely a vibe. It’s in the Northline area which has changed so much over the years.This bar has tons of outdoor patio space and parking. I got there right before they opened so I was able to get a parking spot in the free lot. One of my friends parked on the side street. Because Houston has had consecutive 100 degree days, my friends and I did not sit on the patio, but we did comment that once it cools off, we’d come back to utilize the large patio space.Monkey’s Tail has a variety of great drinks for happy hour and the food selection for happy hour is pretty expansive. The happy hour food is perfect for sharing. My friends and I started the evening with shots and then we ordered cocktails. All of the cocktails were mixed very well and did not skimp on the alcohol. There wasn’t one drink I tasted that wasn’t good. My friends said the same.To order food or drinks, you do have to go to the bar. The bartenders are knowledgeable and friendly.The music in this place was the best. If you like Houston rap music and R&B, you’ll like the selection here. My friends and I were vibing to songs we hadn’t heard in years. One word of caution, if your bring children here, the music is not the clean version. Not sure if it’s normally the case, but there were lots of younger children in the establishment when we were there.Monkey’s Tail is on our list to repeat very soon.

The pride of the northside in Lindale Park! This is a great little bar and eatery in the HTX! They serve a range of cocktails and beers so there is something for everyone. You can't go wrong with any of them. The food is also delicious. There are your typical menu items like burgers and fries (both delicious!) along wings and tacos. This place is counter service only. You order food and drink at the counter and then grab your seats. There are two great patios- one overlooking Fulton and a great back patio. These will be great once the weather cools off a bit. This place is fun and a regular stop when I'm back in the HTX.

Nowhere have I ever had a beer for $2. I did at Monkey's Tail...two actually. They're just out here making happy hours happy and stuff. The atmosphere gives former Mexican restaurant. The backyard has great seating with umbrellas. More for groups than a solo trip. I'd go back again...no doubt!
