The first thing I noticed when I came in was the smell. It smells of spices and good food. My friend and I had some of the sausages and rice. The owner was very kind and attentive to us. She served us beef chips, pickled vegetables, and some authentic tea. The name eludes me but tastes similar to matcha but not exactly.Eating the pickled vegetables tastes like spring. The sausage had a flavor explosion every bite.I can’t wait to come back here again. The 1 hour trip each way is well worth it!

I have been coming to Athena’s for years and it’s really become my favorite restaurant. The food is amazing and the atmosphere feels like you stepped into a movie. Cozy, welcoming and full of laughter and joy! The owner checks on every table to ensure they have enjoyed their meal and truly loves what she does. I am so glad to see this Brock and mortar business thrive the way it has over the years!! It’s truly become a pillar in our community!

Their beef jerky chips are so yummy! I came here today and tasted all their flavors, needless to say i bought all the flavors to bring back to share with the fam. My favorite flavor is the spicy Cambodian flavor. Unique flavor and texture you can't get anywhere else in the states tbh. Narak was super sweet and she made me feel like family. Thank you!

You have to try the beef chips. How do you describe them? Think of potato chips but made from beef, sliced very thin, seasoned well, and then dried. Beef Jerry but thin and crispy. The owner, Sophorn, who also lives in our neighborhood, is really a pleasure to visit and can explain everything to you about the food she makes and sells at her little store and also ships. We will be returning in the near future. My wife is Vietnamese, but we both like Cambodian, Thai, and Vietnamese food. Just FYI, it's not a restaurant, more of pre-made Cambodian sausage, chips, sauces, and a few other things. Check her Facebook and website for more info. I should have taken pictures but we were too busy talking.

You can be sure that we will be backTo have perfect Cambodian crackThere are many pretendersBut all Barbi remembersIs the wonderful food at NarakWhen it's pouring rain, I never go outside without A Narak. Otherwise I'd end up even wetter than Bae.Some of the best Jerky you'll ever taste in your life, spiced to perfection and dreamy and delicious. They make all kinds of heavenly products at Narak's, which we first became aware of when we found them at the Asian Night Market Food Festival (or whatever it's called this month) on Bellaire in "Ellie Plaza" so called because we found our lovely cat Ellie there, aka DaBoba Plaza, aka Universal Shopping Center. The woman that cooks and runs Narak's is an angel, and the food is as wondrous as her service. Could not recommend Narak more highly. So whether you're a vet of Afghanistan, or of Iraq, or even of both Afghanistan & Narak, or not a vet at all, you will love this food.

I highly recommend a visit to Athena’s. I will definitely be back; I can’t wait to share the love with family and friends. We ended up choosing to dine at Athena’s thanks to an unusual and random craving for Greek food. It turns out, we were supposed to be there. That’s how the entire experience felt. My family has been blessed with opportunities to travel to more than 30 countries. We’ve eaten at restaurants holding Michelin stars. Our first experience at Athena’s beats all of those. Hands down. I literally had goosebumps while enjoying my meal. Our server, Zed (sp?), was absolutely first rate. He was warm, helpful, and attentive without being intrusive. We had the pleasure of meeting the owner, Maria as well. An absolutely lovely lady who clearly pours her love into the food and restaurant in general. The wines are fabulous (we ended up buying two bottles for home) and Maria makes fantastic gift baskets (one of which we also took home). My favorites for the night were the mousaka and Maria’s baklava. When you go, definitely do not miss dessert. ?

A lovely place to eat. Greeted immdiately upon entering this open, nicely decorated Greek restaurant. Lots of ceiling fans light a seaside breeze in Greece. The atmosphere is loud and friendly with lots of big groups celebrating a good meal. The staff is hustling all the time and very attentive. Zay did a great job taking care of me on my first visit and making food selections. I've eaten locally in Santorini, Athens, Mykonos and Crete. While these ingredients were very fresh and the portion are big i did find that they are holding back on the flavours. Everything i tried was good but a little muted. Maybe this is intentional because there is not a big greek population in this area. They certainly can be much more authentic if they want.
