Tried the Italian Hoagie my first time here and it was so delicious. Even the potato salad was great. To top it off I really enjoyed their oatmeal cookie. Definitely be back to try other stuff on the menu as the dishes going out to other tables look scrumptious.

As a local, this *is* the best neighborhood Italian spot in Houston. We’ve been going here as a family for over ten years. The food is amazing, consistent, and affordable.Be sure to try the funghi pasta and their royal icing cookies are a classic

Chicken Piccata was super delicious! The small portion was enough for me. Their cookies were soft and good. Just wished it was warmed up.

We were recommended this restaurant by friends and were disappointed. We ordered 3 dishes - spaghetti carbonara, bolognese, and pepperoni pizza. My husband claims the pepperoni pizza seemed to be heated up in the microwave. The dough was soggy & lacked flavor in the sauce. The pasta claims to be fresh (I guess I’m assuming freshly made). Which I think gives it the possible extra star although I feel like I might have had fresher. Both pastas were lackluster. The carbonara had not properly been emulsified therefore leaving chunks of cheese and not the smooth sauce that should be formed when blending the egg yolk, pecorino, and black pepper. It tasted almost chalky. It also came with a poor garlic bread. It was a thin piece of sour dough with what I assume to be garlic butter - except there were no chunks of garlic and barely any remnants that it existed prior to being toasted. It also came with a caesar salad poorly dressed covered in the flavorless garlic bread croutons. The bolognese was probably the most decent of them all. Not my favorite in the city but not worth the critique. The servers are not the kindest at the pick up counter. I guess it helped not to have them table side though and only see them sporadically when picking up. I would say prices and portions are reasonable though. Although, I’d rather spend the extra dough on better dough quite literally.

We love Paulie's. Unfortunately, their restrooms were all backed up and closed. They were super busy. Great service as always.

Amazing Italian food. We ordered the rigatoni bolognese and canestri alla funghi. The sauce of both were flavorful, aroma and delicious. If you love heavy Italian pasta this is the place for you. Be careful the food portion could be huge.

My visit to Paulie's was a delightful experience, deserving of a 4-star rating. I thoroughly enjoyed everything about the place - from the friendly service to the generous portions. One minor hiccup was that I wished the food had been served hotter. The bun on our sliders, in particular, was disappointingly cold. However, the flavors were on point, and the portions were impressively huge, ensuring we left with satisfied appetites.Despite the temperature issue, I found the overall dining experience at Paulie's to be quite enjoyable. If they can address the heat factor, it would be even better. Nevertheless, it's a spot worth trying for the fantastic service and hearty portions.

Paulie's is legit. I can be quite critical when it comes to good Italian food, and this place didn't disappoint. I had the Chicken Picatta, and my wife had the Italian Salad. We shared both, and absolutely enjoyed every bite. Service was great, portions are big, and the prices are fair.
Top 3 carbonaras I've had.
