I wish I could say our experience was good but it wasn't. We were happy to hear they were open again and when we checked the menu prior to our visit, we found out they still had some of our favorite dishes. Unfortunately, the name is the same but the recipes are different. So we were very disappointed about that. You can't keep the same name of dishes to attract old clients but have them taste different. The service is also not great to say the least. Unfortunately we won't be back.

I thought the service left a lot to be desired. We constantly had to ask for things like water, a knife,. It was a split check, and he really did not understand what we were trying to do. Maybe naïve on my part for the bill, but certainly the water glass should be refilled more than one during the evening. Took a long time to get the knife in order to cut some of the food. I thought the prices were high in the amount of food was lacking. The quality of the food was very good however

I could not be happier with the sushi selection they have , Sushi chef it's incredible - he is open to make sushi's outside of the menu . Good service and Cocktails. I would love to come back .

I was so pleased to read about the reopening of Rattan, but was, sadly, disappointed with the experience. The lighting is more chain-restaurant bright, the servers were dressed quite sloppily, and were very slow with service even though there were plenty of them on the floor. There was one menu on the table to share between us- we commented on it and the waiter just shrugged and walked away. The price changes really floored us. They didn't just increase, they went crazy-high. We ended up not staying because even the appetizers were overpriced, yet most were unappealing.

A disastrous experience! They were not ready for the “reopening”. Several items not available and those that were, delivered cold. Worst service ever, and that's being kind. See my Google review for details.

RSVP for week day Valentines dinner. The place is a very nice bistro with a variety of small bites and dishes. It was not over crowded which was nice. I recommend not to go past 8 pm as they tend to run out of some dishes and specialty drinks.

The menu is a shell of its former self. If you are looking for sushi they cut over half of their sushi and roll offerings. My wife's Pad Thai was good. My appetizer was over done. The wine list isn't much of a list. Rattan used to have one of the premier wine lists in West Houston, both by the glass and by the bottle. Overall they increased prices significantly. Service was below average.

Food came out right away for three people and the rest of us waited about 15 minutes for our entrées. The fried rice came out 15 minutes after the entrées were out. The quality of the food was just very average.

We went Friday night for Happy Hour with great menu items to choose from. We normally order quite a few dishes which are always outstanding. Great service, friendly and food comes out at perfect times. Some of our favorites are the Rocket roll, Tempura green beans, potstickers, edamame, sushi is all excellent, calamari...the list goes on. We're so happy that they are back open. It's one of our favorite places for a great evening of food and great cocktails.

We had a party of 20 for dinner. We had the garden room to ourselves. The service was great and the food excellent. The noise level was a little high echoing off the ceiling. Everyone had a great time. Thank you Rattan!

We finished our 2023 HRW experience on a high note at Rattan! From start to finish, everything was exquisite. I ordered a Pomegranate Martini, which really hit the spot! It was so good I simply had to order another. We both began our feast with the Akaushi Short Rib, which literally melted in the mouth. We chose Vietnamese Garlic Beef and Thai-Style Grilled Chicken as our entrees. We were very pleased with the portion, presentation, and most importantly, the taste of each entree. We ended our meal with the Mango Panna Cotta and French Butter Cake. Oh yes, I ordered an excellent iced Vietnamese coffee to go with my butter cake. I highly recommend Rattan for an amazing meal with excellent service!

We eat at Rattan frequently, and we appreciate the new owners. Last nights meal was good. Our food arrived a little bit off peak because it took a long time to get to our table. We had a new server who was just learning, and it will get better.

If you haven't tried Rattan you must. Incredible food and service. Order the Omakase (Chef's) plate, off menu item, this is a chef's choice sashimi, nigiri and a daily specialty roll. The Akaushi short rib is so tender and delicious. My wife can't order anything but the Miso Sea Bass. We've never been disappointed with the food or service. Please give them a try and support a small local ownership restaurant.

This is our favorite date night spot even though we live in Memorial. My husband and I have brought friends as well. I have had several dinner meetings as well. The food is reliably excellent every time. The wait staff Thahn (aka John) and Ashley are always amazing...if I could give them more than 5 stars I would since they even play a key role in our return visits! Hidden gem in the neighborhood!

The food was good but everything else was wrong, kitchen closes at 9 on a Thursday and the waiter was very adamant stating that everyone working there wanted to go home to sleep, and then the check came with overpriced food and insane tip percentages, safe to say I'm not coming back ever. Sad, because the food was good, but the ambience, hours and prices are simply not worth it.
