We thoroughly enjoyed our experience! We made reservations in advance and were promptly seated. The food was fantastic, something about cooking on an open fire just makes everything taste that much better.

The restaurant was nice with a great vibe for Friday at 5 pm. We got two different types of pizzas and the honey cake. The salad was also very refreshing. Only comment is I wish they had more choices for meals such as adding chicken breasts to salads for a healthier option.

Came here since I was told by a very respectable church member this place was an experience to try some exquisite food. I for one truly love trying new restaurants and dishes since it’s putting me in a new environment with experiencing different cultural dishes although the pasta was above average the star of the show was the steak surprising despite the quality of food that was served I was greatly disappointed by my server she only came twice from the beginning and to the end, whenever I needed refills or wanting to order additional food and wine she was no where to be found, she was always attending to other tables and chatting with staff. This made me feel unhappy with the service because I did enjoyed the food but not the service provided hopefully she will receive counseling to improve her performance.

Rosie Canonball is known for European comfort food in the heart of Montrose and is one of my favorite restaurants in Houston. It was founded by the Goodnight Hospitality group which is behind Montrose Cheese & Wine and MARCH Restaurant. The kitchen is an open concept with live fire and is centered around a wood-burning oven and grill. On the menu, you'll find local vegetables, pastas, pizzas, seafood, and locally-sourced meat. You'll also find an extensive wine list and amazing Italian-influenced cocktails. The parking situation is a bit tough as there isn't a private parking lot. They do offer tipped valet parking. Although they have limited seating outside, there is a lively atmosphere indoors. I would recommend getting a reservation when coming here as it's usually packed. As for the menu, it does tend to change slightly over the seasons. I have tried so many cocktails and dishes at Rosie Canonball, it's been hard to keep track of! Luckily, I wrote some notes below:[COCKTAILS]+Wonderful Performance (vodka, coconut, pineapple, citrus, and eggwhite) for $14 - This tastes like a piña colada! - 4.5/5+Rosie's Old Fashioned (bourbon and cardamom-rhubarb) for $14 - 4/5+Late Monsoon (bourbon, spiced pear, apple, and sparkling wine) for $14 - 4/5+Space Somm (rums, pedro ximenez sherry, passionfruit, and pineapple) for $14 - 4/5+Written & Directed By (old tom gin, amaro, oloroso sherry, and italicus) for $14 - 4/5+Featherweight (dry vermouth, genepy, chartreuse, apricot, and citrus) for $14 - 4/5+Antilles Hour (rhum agricole, cocchi americano, banana, and absinthe) for $14 - 3.5/5[MOCKTAILS]+Safe & Sound (pineapple, citrus, peach, and spices) for $10 - 4.5/5+All Together (seedlip spice 94, citrus, and passionfruit) for $10 - 4/5+Rosie Riviera (grapefruit, pomegranate, and soda) for $10 - I wished this had more carbonation in it as it has soda. It also feels like this would be better chilled. - 3/5[STARTERS & SHARES]+Focaccia di Recco (Warm flatbread with mortadella & robiola cheese) for $22 - 5/5+Tuna Crudo (pomegranate agrodolce, citrus, and salsa verde) for $20 - 4.5/5+Burrata & Fire Roasted Tomato (confit garlic, cuquillo olive gremolata, and baguette) for $20 - 4/5[VEGETABLES]+Blistered Bean Salad (pea shoots, shallots, fresno peppers, olives, and candied almonds) for $16 - 4.5/5+Marinated Beets (burrata, sunflower seed vinaigrette, oleppo honey, and pain de campagne for $18 - 4/5+Melon & Cucumber Salad (colatura, colabrian chili crisp, and ricotta salato) for $18 - 4/5+Grilled Romaine (green garlic dressing, boquerones, parmesan, and breadcrumbs) for $16 - 3.5/5[PIZZA]+Cacio E Pepe (white souce, formoggi al pepe, and pecorino) for $20 - 5/5+Fennel Sausage & Peppers (colabrian chile, allium cont. scamorza, and fresnos) for $20 - 4/5+Caramelized Onion and Bacon/Date Jam (grand cru gruyere, bacon date jam, and arugula) for $24 - 4/5+Pineapple & Schiacciata (mozzarella, lardo, and hot honey) for $22 - This pizza is really sweet, like a dessert, if you're into that. It's also really soggy. - 3.5/5[PASTA]+Gnocchi (cauliflower, truffle, and balsamic) for $36 - 5/5+Cavatelli Alla Bolognese (lambrusco bolognese and parmigiano reggiano) for $20 - 5/5+Penne Alla Vodka (creamy tomato sauce, caciotto, mozzarella, and latterio cheeses) for $24 - 5/5+Fregula with Clams (saffron, fennel, and chili oil) for $28 - 3/5[FROM THE FIRE]+Grilled Redfish (colatura glaze, butter beans, and chive crème fraîche) for $34 - The butter beans were okay, I think this item could have been better with the choice of sides. - 3.5/5[DESSERT]+The Honey Cake (burnt honey, dulce de leche whipped cream, and crème fraiche gelato) for $14 - 5/5Overall, Rosie Canonball is always an amazing experience. Their pastas are handmade in the morning and taste super fresh by night. The pizzas are cooked in their wood-burning oven and are incredible. If you want to have European comfort food in a lively atmosphere in Houston, Rosie Canonball is your best bet. Highly recommended!

This place was truly fantastic! The service was phenomenal. It truly felt like we were at a fine dining restaurant without paying the outrageous prices for one. Our server and all other staff were super attentive. They did all the small things such as folding your napkin when you get up from the table, refilling your wine glass, etc. Our server was really knowledgeable about the extensive wine menu and helped us choose something we would like while staying in our price range. I really appreciate that even though there were some pricey (and I’m sure amazing) wines on the menu, he didn’t try to upsell us, he just truly wanted to help us find something we’d enjoy. Not to mention they also do half price bottles on Sundays! We never felt rushed to order or anything like that. We had the focaccia to start which was delicious. Entrees were equally as delicious and everything was homemade (including the ranch). We finished our meal with the Honey Cake (also recommended by our server) which was soooo good! We will definitely be back!My only recommendation is a bigger sign outside so more people will stumble upon this place and can enjoy it as much as we did ☺️Parking: Complimentary valet!

I don't think I have ever rated a place a 1 star, but I felt compelled. I was so excited to try this place after Chris Shepherd talked about it during eat like a local on TV. We made a reservation two weeks in advance and unfortunately we were seated outside. It was the Saturday night and it was booked, so I understand, but we did not realize the outside seating was literally in the parking lot. Wow. I expected at least a patio. We tried the mushroom toast which was okay and the focaccia bread. I have eaten at a lot of Italian places and this was at best average. So disappointing! The wood fired pizza was average as well, I was expecting so much more. And the Bolognese was average as well. I honestly can say I actually didn't like it, I can make better at home. Service, average. Considering all the hype I had for this place is one of the most disappointing experiences I've had in Houston in a very long time. The first and last time. This city has so many good restaurants, skip this one. At least now I know.

Excelente. This place has a wonderful and diverse menu. Their pizza is awesome. They also have great wines and other adult beverages including Estrella Damm cerveza from ES. Anchoas bien deliciosas too.

We thought this place was ok. The focaccia was pretty good. The limone chicken pasta was good for what it was but still pretty plain. The honey cake was really good and worth coming for. The Cacio e Pepe pizza was a little plain - very heavy on the crust from a proportion standpoint. Standout service here but food was flat
