My family and I have been to this place for a couple of years now and we haven't had a bad meal there. The food is always fresh and delicious and the service always efficient and attentive so I'm very surprised to see some of the negative reviews here. Their prices are also very reasonable. Some of our favorites are: Salted squid - although this dish comes with rice, we'd always have it as an appetizer. The squid is lightly battered, fried and seasoned just right; freshly cracked pepper add a really nice kick to it. Walnut shrimp - the shrimp is also lightly battered and glazed and has just the right amount of mayonnaise on it, which is great; the glazed walnuts are addictive. Catfish in clay pot and sweet and sour shrimp soup compliment each other. Other Vietnamese dishes such as goi sua tom thit and bo tai chanh are also very tasty. The only dish that we found disappointing and that we would never order again was the peking duck. Although it was tasty, the portion was way too small for the price - for $27 or so the portion looked like it was only half of what is normally served at other restaurants such as A Ly. Saigon One is always our family's go-to restaurant when we want a meal that has both chinese and vietnamese dishes to satisfy different taste buds. We absolutely love it!

I loveeeee this place! It's a great spot to come for during lunch. My Fiance and I usually get the salted fish rice, and a beef dish which I forgoet what it's called. The Soups and Pho here is really good also!

I ventured over here because my dad's side of the family wanted to get together for dinner. I should have passed, but I wanted to see/hang out with my family. Anyway, I sat at the "kids table," which I'm fine with because I love playing with my cousins. Interestingly, we were allowed to order our own food (the "adults" usually order food for us). Since the kids (literally, I'm the eldest at the table and probably the only real 'adult' there) each ordered their own soup noodle bowl, I decided to try their "beef noodle stew." BAD IDEA! It did not taste like vietnamese beef stew at all! In fact, it was tasteless! I tried to add hot sauce and peppers... even squeezed a lime in it to enhance the flavor. After my 5th bite, I just gave up. The meats the gave me were super fatty and the carrot wasn't even cooked (usually, the carrots in a vietnamese beef noodle stew will melt in your mouth in one bite)... this carrot was hard as a rock. One of my cousins felt bad and wanted to share her pho ga (chicken noodle soup) with me, but I declined. One good thing I had there... the vietnamese egg rolls. It was crispy and delicious (probably what saved it from being a one-star review). It had a good serving of meat in it as well. So I enjoyed it. However, if you come here and try it out... please don't get the beef noodle stew... save your taste buds and try something else!

Passed this fairly new restaurant but never made it in till Sunday 03/20/11 for dinner. We went prime time around 7:30p and boy was it packed. We both were astonished with the business they had...that means theyre good right? 98% of the restaurant was occupied. We started with bo tai chanh (~$8.95) and asked our waitress for another moment to decide our entrees. I love onions, Buddha knows I do, but my goodness, this dish was drowning in it! It had red onions, which is fine...but it started to taste bitter. Crunch crunch bitter. Crunch crunch crunch crunch crunch bitter. ::scrunch face:: Waitress never came back. (well...after about 20 mins, she did) We ordered: 1. thit bo sate (beef w/ sate sauce) ~$7.95 2. thit heo quay cai chua (roasted pork w/ pickled veggies). ~7.95 15 mins later another waitress came back and told us they ran out of thit heo....so we ordered 2. ca tuyet chien (fried bass) $14.95 10 mins later, our thit bo sate came out. 7 mins later our Steamed fish came out. Uh......we ordered fried. We eyeballed and waved down waitress after waitress but none came over. =/ The thit bo was good though. Once again, lost in a sea of onions so we decided to see how much meat was actually in the dish. We picked and divided it out. Maybe a...1 and 1/4 cup of sliced meat. Tender, moist, flavorful. When a waitress finally came within 10 ft we grabbed her attention and told her our problem. She apologized and pushed for us to not cancel the dish (the fish), that she'll have it out right away. We explained we already changed our dish already and we're just about through.....we lost our appetite. Another waitress/manager came by, apologized and tried to get us to order something else. We stood firm and asked for the check. We left disappointed. We wanted to like it. We wanted it to be our next Fu-Fu. One of the worst service I ever had, even at an asian restaurant. I dont expect asians to come by and ask us how is our meal....but I do expect them to at least come by and get our order, bring What we ordered, and at least Look our way even if theyre across the room. Good thing was that they werent rude. I will have to give this place and try again. Hopefully Ill leave as a fan next time.

I initially didn't have any expectations of this place when I was told family wanted to meet at this venue. We had a usual family gatherings at this place. First impression, the place was clean from the outside..(never used they're bathrooms). But everything was in order when I went the last two times. Plus! So food quality here is pretty perfect. Everything thing we ordered was cooked in perfect timing. But here's what we ordered. 1) Sup mung cua (crab meat soup) 2) walnut shrimp ( perfectly fried n tossed! Even there walnuts were better) 3) Asian style sweet n sour pork. This was one of my favo! ( flavor was on point n crispy as well... Mmmmmm) 4) Mix Seafood n veggies in birdnest. ( not literally a bird nest, but shredded deepfried taro bowl) 5) Stirfry snow pea leaves w garlic. 6) Ginger n scallion lobster ( I normally don't care for this dish Bc it's messy, but these guys got the flavor on point. Couldn't resist) 7) Crab rice is really tasty as well here too :p We actually had a few more dishes, but those we're my most memorable. FYI. Byow :)

The food is delicious and the service always friendly and efficient. They offer pre-set menus that are a great deal.. I have been here twice and both times our group decided on the pre-set menu for 6. The portions are all pretty generous, and the quality good. Great place for take out or sit down dinner during the week.

you would think a place with a name like saigon , capitol of vietnam or whatever would have one of the best dishes.. but i was wrong.. foods terrible, service is horrible , waiters/waitress speak little english to be nice. In other words if you don't speak ASIAN i don't EVER and will EVER recommend this place to anyone

For the price to quality ratio for Viet/Chinese fusion, this place can't be beat. Highlights: Vietnamese fish pot - catfish or similar glazed in an aromatic, sweet soy sauce glaze. Wonderful flavor on rice. Fresh fish. Cashew shrimp - the classic Chinese dish. Glazed with just the right amount of mayo on a lettuce bed. HUGE shrimp, and lots of it. Excellent value. A hidden gem among the repetitive rows of lackluster pho shops, sandwiches, and what else.
