Great food and loved the chain since I was young. Quality of food as not deterred and the efficiency of getting food out is excellent. Service is what you expect of an Asian restaurant so you sort of have to flag them down. Nothing abnormal about this. Ambiance is great and well maintained. I do miss the other locations that the family use to have but very happy there is still one today. Be careful as sometimes during the night they may have venues and seating will be very limited with long wait times. I love getting the thit nuong (pork plate), sour fish soup, fat egg rolls, walnut butter shrimp, salty fried squid, and clay pot fish. These are my family go to. Highly recommended!

Looks like a nice venue for banquets, complete with giant phoenix and dragon motif on the wall. The food is pretty good, as we got our appetizers (spring rolls and the summer rolls) on time, but they forgot to put our order in for lunch. After waiting 45 minutes (thankful for great conversation) they came back and asked for our order then backtracked when they saw the surprised/angry look on our faces. The food eventually arrived, and was good (except for the Singapore noodles - they were a mushy mess with only a single shrimp), but they offered nothing in exchange for their mistake. We ate, we paid and we can't in good faith recommend Tay Do for groups.

I ordered three of their signature dishes, clay pot rice with chicken, clay pot fish, and sauteed clam with basil. The sauteed clam with basil tastes like soap / hand sanitizer and they used green leek instead basil. The other two dishes are ok. Stay away from their seafood dishes. Actually you may just have better luck in Chinese/ viet town. Do yourself a favor and just drive to Bellaire

Food came out hot. Could use salt. Owner and server were very rude and unapologetic. We support small businesses; however, if they cannot fix their customer service we will not be back.

One of our fav Vietnamese restaurants that we have been coming to for years since their original location on Bellaire. Our must haves are shaking beef, salt toasted calamari, and caramelized fish in claypot, but our usuals when we go as a group are Vietnamese egg rolls, lemon beef underdone salad, chicken claypot rice, summer delight salad, and sautéed string beans. Most of their Vietnamese dishes are solid. We did try orange chicken one time, but unfortunately it was not to our taste...batter was too thick and the sauce was too sweet. Even though it's a mom and pop restaurant run by the siblings, it's a huge space and can host large groups and the food comes out fast too. We love coming and bringing friends and out of town guests here especially when we have a big group to have a variety to share.

Tay Do has been a family favorite for over two decades. The food has always been consistent and delicious. Our favorite dishes are the rare beef salad, salted squid, salted soft shell crab, claypot rice, braised duck, braised fish, and egg rolls. Over the years, we've noticed the portions gotten smaller while the prices went up. The service is average to subpar so don't expect much, just come here for the food.
