I pulled in here for an early lunch before my flight home. I grew up in SE Houston in the 70s and early 80s but had never been here. I knew when I saw the parking lot nearly full at 11 AM on a Monday that it was going to be good. Old school diner with huge portions and good prices. I had meatloaf with gravy, spinach, and cornbread. More than I could finish. $10. Getting waited on took a little while, but from there, all great. They have daily specials and serve breakfast all day. I suggest getting there early for lunch. Great place.Vegetarian options: Veggie plate or salad.Parking: Full at noon. Plenty of spaces at 11 am.Kid-friendliness: Lots of kids. Some large tables for families.Wheelchair accessibility: 2 doors, no steps. Hostess can hold the door for you.

Wrong order quickly fixed. Omelet, sausage, grits, hash browns, and coffee were excellent. Breakfast always busy on weekends. Still one of the 4 best in SE Houston.

Food was pretty good but portion sizes are a hit or miss. I ordered the catfish it was great taste wise but the filets were small even though the pictures online show a healthy size. Wasn’t worth the $15 I spent. French toast, too much egg granted I’m picky about French toast. Chicken fried chicken had two BIG peices full of flavor. Fries were great Mashed potatoes were on point!!!! Green beans slightly underseasoned. Food was good enough for me to order to go but I wish I hadn’t. Got a burger with jalapeño and more chicken fried chicken to share with my daughter for dinner. The burger had no jalapeño and barely any fries in the box. The plates coming out had twice the amount we got. Opened the box for the chicken fried chicken and there was a chicken fried steak instead. A dollar more but half the food. One small thin peice so instead of me and my daughter eating just my daughter ate. Next time I’ll order for here and pack it to go myself.

This was my first visit and I loved it! I had to wait a lil bit but it was not long and it was worth it. The food was amazing and the service was average.Parking: This is a small establishment so the parking is scarce.
