Disappointing restaurant for such a great location. We have eaten here a couple of times when staying at the Houstonian. Both were sub-par. The most recent in March 2024 was very disappointing. My wife had filet mignon. It was undercooked and had an off flavor. It tasted like a smoke seasoning had been added. The potatoes with it were lacking in flavor.I had the puerco pibil, which was featured on the menu as a signature dish for the restaurant's style. It was bland. It was supposed to come in an achiote sauce. The sauce was watery and almost flavorless. I have had a similar dish at a few restaurants in the city, and it should have a deep flavor with a thicker sauce. This missed badly on that. The rice accompanying the dish was underseasoned. Our cocktails were very good. And the bread was good too.The waitstaff was fine. It took them a while to get to us, but after that we were taken care of.The Houstonian is a beautiful property and could provide amazing views for the diners. But only a few tables can see the front lawn of the hotel/spa complex. It feels like the restaurant was a complete afterthought.Incidentally, we have had good bar eats at the bar adjoining the restaurant. So if you have to eat at the hotel, I suggest you try the bar.

Lovely brunch...I wish there were more hot food options, seemed to focus more on salads and cold foods, but on a Sunday I tend to enjoy something a bit heartier. The flan is absolutely DIVINE!...ambiance is very upscale. Beautiful surroundings.Complimentary valet parking, High dollar btw.

Located within the Houstonian Hotel in Houston, Tribute restaurant offers a delightful blend of Louisiana, Texas, and Mexican cuisines, creating a unique dining experience. The restaurant's ambiance is warm and inviting, providing a perfect setting for a memorable meal.Tribute's menu features a variety of signature dishes that showcase the flavors of the region. From traditional Louisiana gumbo to Texas-style barbecue and Mexican-inspired dishes, there is something for every palate. Standout dishes include the Gulf Coast shrimp and grits, the Texas brisket tacos, and the chicken fried steak with jalapeño gravy.Over the years, Tribute has welcomed a number of famous diners, including celebrities, politicians, and business leaders. Some of its most notable guests have included former president George H.W. Bush, who reportedly enjoyed the restaurant's Texas brisket tacos, and actress Jennifer Aniston, who is said to be a fan of the Gulf Coast shrimp and grits. With its delicious cuisine, inviting ambiance, and celebrity clientele, Tribute restaurant is a must-visit dining destination in Houston. Whether you're craving authentic Louisiana flavors, Texas barbecue, or Mexican-inspired dishes, Tribute offers a culinary experience that is sure to please.

We celebrated our 20th anniversary at Tribute and had an amazing experience. Our server Alina was fantastic and the food was delicious. We loved the ambience too! We'll be back!

The food & service by our waiter was fabulous. However, I did not appreciate being seated basically in the restaurant lobby near the hostess station. There is a wall blocking the actual restaurant from this lobby & they've plunked 3 tables there. Not a good location. Luckily I brought a friend-not a customer, and we both enjoyed our meals & our waiter was wonderful. I asked to move & was told all the other tables were specifically booked, altho they were mostly empty. I've been a Houstonian Resident Member for 17 years & have never known we could ask for a specific table...?

Superb food, one of the best rib-eye steaks I've ever had, grilled to perfection and although I wanted it well done it was tender and juicy. The ambience is wonderful, the food delectable and our server was Amazing!!! Well informed, helpful, charming, sociable without being pushy or annoying. Honestly, a true professional which one hardly finds anymore! Bravo to everyone!! 10 stars from A-Z!

The Tribute at The Houstonian is an absolute delight! My husband and I went there for our anniversary, and we couldn't have had a better meal, ambience and service for our special day. Big shout out to Gonzo for making our night! The food was spectacular! We started with the wedge salad and crab claws (oh! And do notttt skip on the rolls and butter dear lord, I could've eaten those all night!). I had the redfish special that came with lump crab meat and my husband had the filet. They were both cooked & seasoned to perfection! Don't skip this place, especially during the holidays. The decorations are just spectacular!

We love TRIBUTE at the Houstonian. It's in the Houstonian Hotel but really seems like it's own place. The service is fantastic every time we go and the food is just as good too! We love Gonzo as our server.

Had a great birthday dinner at Tribute with our kids. Even though it's definitely very nice, they were great with us with our kids. One of our favorite places to dinner on special occasions with our family.

The TRIBUTE never disappoints. My friend and I brought our 4 year old daughters with us to brunch and they had the best time. They will never forget it. All of the staff treated them like princesses!!
