Bento box was extremelyyyy bland. Good portions, good service, and I'm sure their appetizers and specialty rolls must be better.

The pricing of this sushi is the best. The rolls are affordable and you definitely get your money's worth. The fish isn't amazingly fresh and isn't the best sushi you can have in Houston but it does the job

Do. Not. Order. On. Weekends. The good: the food is usually good to very good, and the prices are lower than at better places (Kata Robata, Uchi, MF Sushi, Aya). The bad: if you order takeout on a weekend night, expect your order to take at least double (no exaggeration) the estimated time. While you wait, you can watch walk-ins get served before you, and the staff be unrepentant and unapologetic about the delay. After waiting 75 minutes (45 of that awkwardly in the restaurant, along with at least half a dozen other people) for two rolls and two sushis, I think I'm done with Yoshi. Thank goodness I was picking up for myself, rather than being a delivery person whose tip would be destroyed by their being so slow.

The place is clean and the staff are friendly. The general qso was so clean and yummy. Real chicken freshly made and huge! I had two rolls and they were so good. Highly recommend. Will be back soon.

Their lunch special is so bomb and they're generous with quantity! I love this place.

Best sweet potato tempura roll I've ever had! I always get sweet potato tempura and avocado roll wherever I go and Yoshi hands down has the best one I've tried yet. Prices are amazing too!

Japanese cuisine is a hard sell in the Braeswood / West U area, so I understand the immediate appeal of a place like Yoshi. Places like this are a lot more common than your average omakase, so I realize the comparison isn't warranted. The service has always been lukewarm and the prices are a little much, considering the food is very subpar (#1) at best. The pandemic wasn't kind to any business and life at Yoshi was no exception. They took extra precautions and made the place exclusively takeout for awhile; going as far as sealing out the front so that no one could get past the door and with an artificial paper wall for transactions and waiting. I want to assume that things have gone back to normal, but I've still only called in for pickup. As previously noted, the food is mediocre. I found the sushi to be overpriced for what it is and I have to assume the affluent neighborhood + the lack of any serious competition has to contribute to this. This is not destination sushi. It's takeout sushi with a slightly higher price tag. I've never walked away without spending at least $100 on everything, which is usually good enough for several rolls and a few nigiri pieces a la carte. The rolls were underwhelming and this also applies to their array of special rolls, including the cowboy roll. I am not fond of how skinny / small the nigiri pieces are cut, but to each his/her own. I am also not a fan of the ramen, which is probably worse than the sushi. The broth is a near salt bomb and I've been less enthused to experiment with their menu as I would with other places. Sharing the same parking lot as Whole Foods, I'm willing to bet the latter has better options for sushi. The staff here seems somewhat apathetic and unmotivated to do better. They're bilingual in both Mandarin and English and they take credit card. ___________ (#1) AYCE sushi quality but a little sadder.

My boyfriend and I were aware that the restaurant closes at 10PM and walked in at 9:10PM. We both eat rather quickly, and this was our first time coming to this restaurant. There were no other customers when we walked in, and were surprised at how small it was. I told the lady at the register that we would like a table for 2, but instead of seating us she looked at the clock and at her coworker. The lady at the register looked annoyed, and her coworker repeatedly asked if we were dining in. At this point we just decided we would rather spend our money elsewhere instead, because why bother wasting our money at a restaurant that doesn't even want to serve you. Just change your hours to close at 9PM if it's such an inconvenience serving TWO customers in 50 minutes.

First time here, and only 2nd time trying Ramen. Got the chicken and the spicy chicken. Broth has really good flavor. Nice size portions and love the ability to actually pick and choose my ingredients. Fast service and help from staff. Will definitely be back.

How the mighty have fallen. This used to be our favorite lunch spot, but things have been slowly going downhill since we first came, and our last, terrible visit was the last straw. We ordered takeout in person, as the place had just opened. Two bento boxes, one beef (Rare) and one salmon. It took 45 minutes to make our food. We saw countless other orders fly out of the kitchen in the meantime - I thought perhaps they'd started to prioritize orders taken by phone or possibly apps like UberEATS, but even a table that arrived after we did and ordered their food for dine-in was already eating before we saw anything. And to make matters worse - when our food finally DID arrive, my husband's beef was well-done. It was even marked on the ticket as well-done. This isn't the first time we've had this request ignored or misunderstood; but giving them the benefit of the doubt, we had them repeat it back to us when we ordered. And yet, somewhere between placing the order and getting it to the kitchen, they STILL managed to get it wrong. How? I have no idea! Even the lady who'd taken our order seemed baffled. She did apologize for the incorrect order, but not the long wait, and didn't offer any solutions. Frustrated, we took the food anyway and left, and discovered when we finally sat down and ate that the sushi rice wasn't seasoned. Neither was my teriyaki salmon, or the vegetables that came with it. And to make matters worse, they'd only given us two packets of soy sauce - which was barely enough for two of our four rolls, nevermind my bland salmon. I can't recommend this restaurant any longer, as it's apparent they no longer care.

The food SUCKED it was total booty, the place was small as heck, service was slow, rude and overall not great. Sent back the chicken ramen cause peppered toilet water isn't really my thing and not only did I have to ask for it to be removed from the table but they also still charged us for the two bites so Yoshi, sincerely, ligma.

Good shopping strip sushi house with very reasonable prices even outside of happy hour. The ramens and signature rolls are around $10-15 each. Their nigiri pieces range from $5.50 - 9.50 (for 2). About the only bad thing is that there's not much space for dine-in much less for a large group. They seems to do a lot of business through delivery app. My vegetable ramen was good, and the broth was not too salty. I read some complaints that it was undersalted but it's better when you can reach for the salt or soy sauce than too much. I saw that the Texas roll was beautifully crafted although smaller and tasted fresh even on a Sunday.
