Stopped in Huntsville while traveling. We went in about 40 minutes before closing. We had server Gibby (not sure if this is how you spell his name.) He was an amazing server. Great personality and very welcoming. Was very prompt on taking our order and keeping our drinks full. Got some of the most amazing food I have ever ate. And the desert was delicious. Highly recommend this place if you’re in town.

Don't go on a Sunday afternoon, took 35 minutes to get salad and bread, we're here an hour and just got our food. Food is still great as always but the long wait is not acceptable!

Such a disappointing experience tonight! Food and service was great but we sat two tables away from the Owner and his friends. They were very loud, crude, vulgar and disrespectful to women. For the 5 1/2 years we've lived in Huntsville we've loved this restaurant and celebrated many special occasions here, but that was ruined tonight. I can't say that we will ever go back to 1836. Thousands of dollars spent here over the years Im sure.... Such a shame because the waitstaff had been nothing short of excellent on every visit.

Was visiting from out of state for the weekend and was able to get a reservation. Overall a great experience. The food was all very good and the experience was excellent. We loved the old home conversion and the staff was attentive and polite. We enjoyed unique cocktails with a local twist and finished things up with a tasty dessert. I'd recommend 1836 Steakhouse to anyone who finds themselves in the Huntsville, TX area.
The food was really good but the service was ok. We ordered the crème brûlée expecting vanilla and got a s'mores one it would have been nice to know that they didn't have the vanilla one but the server did not mention until after he brought it out.

The Chicken cordon bleu, mashed potatoes, and green beans were all excellent! We have a French restaurant in College Station and this Chicken Cordon Bleu at 1836 Steakhouse was far superior to the La Petit Cochon. The venue is historic and the meal was perfect for a special dinner or any night of the week. My wife and I enjoyed our experience at the 1836 Restaurant. Dr. Monte

The food was amazing and has to the only place that knows how to cook a steak to perfection. However, the potato soup was the only dish that was not the best. Other then that, the waiter was increadible, the food was perfectily seasoned and cooked and the price was decent with the amazing quality of food
It was literally the best date night meal that my wife and I have ever had. You have to get the Pork Wontons they were simply to die for. The Filets were the best ever and the cherry on top of the night was the Bananas Foster. It was simply a night of perfection to remember. We definitely will be reoccurring customers in the future.

Excellent all around, service was great, food was outstanding - enjoyed the appetizers, perfect thinly battered fried green tomato's and the spinach artichoke dip was just as good, not to forget the little breads the dip is served with, perfect (not hard like most restaurants). Salad was crisp and the asparagus and green beens both hit the mark... ribeye was medium and tied for best I've had in recent memory - will definitely be back. Thank You!

This is unique historic restaurant that provides a great atmosphere. I would suggest making reservations because it can get busy. All of their food is great but my family always gets a side order of the Bacon Mac and Gouda!
