I had the Frito Pie potato and could instantly recognize the chili being from a can. If quality ingredients were used, I could get behind the Shack, but for now, I’ll be leaving this Huntsville Tradition in the past.

Disappointing. The food should have been so good but it just wasn’t. The potato was overcooked, the broccoli tasted funny and the mild sauce wasn’t very mild.

My husband and I recently took a weekend trip to Huntsville and Potato Shack was on our restaurant list. We both had the garden potato and it was very fresh and savory. The service was friendly and fast as well. We were not super hungry when we went, so the garden potato was a nice, light dinner option. Thank you for a great experience.Vegetarian options: Garden potato

The potato shake is a casual atmosphere with both college kids and locals. The service is great and the food is delicious. I had the potato soup and it was wonderful. My next visit I want a bowl instead of a cup. I want to try the funnel cake fries next visit.

I feel like the portion for the fries and toppings is getting smaller and smaller. Only for takeout. It's kinda a pathetic amount of food for the cost. I spent 19.50 on an amount that should be 10. It's like you're punishing people for ordering through Door Dash instead of going and sitting down at your restaurant.

First time coming, the server Brooklyn, she was very kind and made suggestions being our first time coming, food was good, FUNNEL CAKE FRIES ARE TO DIE FOR! Cheap soap in bathroom also needs a new door and a good cleaning, men's restroom needs repair, overall it wasn't a bad experience despite a few technical difficulties involving a breaker and a warmer.. ❤️ thanks for making it right! We will be back

We went here for the first time. We ordered some wings as an appetizer they were messy but good. I ordered a build your own baked potato, I had butter, queso, onion, sausage, and guacamole . It was delicious. I loved it , you have to get in a line to order and pay, then they bring it to you. I will go back for sure.

Pretty much any type of potato available. I had the BBQ potato and it was good other than too much fat on the meat. Potatoes are very large.

In one form or another, potatoes are one of the few foods that practically everyone enjoys. I love them in most any form, but when I’m in the mood for potatoes in the rawest form possible, only a baked potato will do and a restaurant that specializes in this type of food is Potato Shack, a Huntsville, TX mainstay.Let’s start with the atmosphere. Potato Shack is casual, with signs of various types covering the walls. There is a section that is more open, too. It’s not outdoors- it is covered. But it has larger window openings to let the fresh air flow when the weather is nice. There is a bar with stools for individual seating and an abundance of tables and chairs for your seating needs. Now, for the food. Potato Shack divides its baked spuds between classic and specialty varieties. If classic is your thing, you can select among such options as a simple butter potato, cheese potato, or mixed vegetable potato. If you feel more adventurous, you can select among the specialty potatoes such as Barbecue potato, Louisiana Link potato, Teriyaki potato, and many more. It would be fun to visit multiple times, over a span of weeks, and try a different one each visit, as there are so many from which to choose and so many sound delicious. If you don’t want a potato, there are other food options here such as burgers, wings, salads, etc. I can’t imagine visiting Potato Shack and not getting a potato, but if you want something else, no problem. They also serve desserts and have a kid’s menu. And they have a large selection of beers on tap from nearby Lucky 19 Brewing, which is affiliated with the restaurant.Potatoes are served at Potato Shack split open and smothered in toppings. You don’t need to cut open your potato and arrange the toppings. Everything is right there, mixed and ready to enjoy. The potatoes are large and with the added toppings, are quite filling. One thing is certain: you will leave Potato Shack feeling full and satisfied. The portions and toppings are generous and the food is delicious and memorable.I love potatoes as much as the next person and I really love a baked potato piled high with all the fixings. This is exactly what you get at Potato Shack, a great place for lovers of spuds located in Huntsville, TX right next to Sam Houston State. It’s a great place for a satisfying meal and I recommend a visit on your next trip through Texas.Vegetarian options: Lots of the baked potato options are vegetarian friendly

Best baked potatoes ever! I have been to Potato Shack since my college days at the old location in the strip mall that is now apartments. This location is still great and the food never disappoints. So many potato toppings to choose from. CCR is my go-to but the honey garlic is my favorite. Great atmosphere inside and on the patio. Also some good beverage options on tap too.
