Food was cold service great. Training a new hostess on a cold Friday night might not be the best idea.

Decided to stop in here yesterday and it didn't disappoint at all. It was a beautiful day out and they had a nice outside area to sit at. Our waitress came out and was very polite and attentive. On top of that, about 5 different people that worked here came by just to say hi to the puppy and were all very nice. Our waitress guided us through what her recommendations were on the menu. We started with the spicy shrimp app, they were delicious! Then I had the fish and chips and my lady had the salmon with capers. All the food came out hot and in a timely manner. Definitely recommend this location and we will be back!

Came to try this location and had a bad impression from the hostess! She is lazy and didn’t care to seat us at our table. The table was windy making hard to read the menu so I asked her to help and move us to another table infront of us. That table was dirty and we waited for over 10 minutes and nothing was done. The restaurant was empty inside so I was able to sit down myself. I decided to then just seat myself in a booth because I was not helped at all! No silverware was given we request from the young guy who brought our food but he just did a rude face to our server to get us some.Gumbo taste fresh and good taste! ⭐️Good option on the chalkboard which is written nice and clear! ⭐️Waiter was nice ⭐️

The ONLY reason it's a one star ( cause honestly it deserves a ZERO) is because I've had a lovely time at other locations and the food is good. I will say the bartender was very friendly and she got me a menu and drinks UNFORTUNATELY that's where the service ENDED! It took a long time before anyone came over to acknowledge me to the point I honestly wanted to leave but I had my drink so I couldn't. Emily finally walks over ( I only know her name because it was on the receipt as she did NOT introduce herself nor did she welcome me or apologize for the wait ) at this point I'm just ready for my food as I've been here prior and knew what I wanted. The wait for the food didn't take long as it was completely dead in there ( with this kind of service I see why) the food was great per the fish city grill standard , it's just truly unfortunate that the service was so terrible. A man that I presume is the manager ( again no introduction) ask "was anything fine" as he's walking past that's NOT touching tables but anyway I told him I'd like a water as Emily didn't offer me one . Idk if she thought the bartender was supposed to do her job or what but I was COMPLETELY over it! It wasn't until the presumed manager "touched tables" with me did she decide to finally come over to assist but at this point the impression was already made and it was CLEAR my business was of ZERO importance. BOTTOMLINE I won't be returning to this location which is a pity because I was truly excited that I was near one as I work in La Centerra ( which they didn't add the discount until I mentioned as Emily claimed she didn't notice my shirt which she wasn't interacting with me so that makes sense) so if the service was better , I would've patronized frequently but y'all's loss

I love they have happy hour during the weekend. The food was fresh and delicious! I love they have free pink lemonade!!!! The location is very convenient since it's right across the green lawn.

Our first time at this place. Dennis was very helpful. We started with Calamari which is marvelous. Soup came way too Salty. We came for the fish and chips because i was craving for it. It could have been delicious but again batter and fries too salty. Husband ordered blacked chicken cob salad he was complaining about it. We will return only if they lay low with SALT! Looking at some of the reviews i guess you are known for overdoing your salts.

My wife and I re-discovered this hidden gem at La Centerra! From start-to-finish, our dining experience here was absolutely delightful. Our waitress Gina was very attentive and gave us solid recommendations. If you are into Happy Hours, we recommend the $8 nachos w/ blackened shrimp paired with their $7 Perfect Patron Margarita - both were amazing! FYI, they have All-day Happy Hour on Saturdays! If you are a fan of Calamari, we think that they may have the best in Katy - cooked to perfection, just the right amount of breading, and served with an incredible lemon aioli & Thai sriracha sauce that is guaranteed to BLOW YOUR MIND!!!!! For our entree, we split a House Salad and a Shrimp Po-Boy with french fries. In every instance, their food gets high marks for prep time, quality of ingredients and flavor.... even the french fries are award-worthy! The manager David was friendly and very informative about the seafood & ingredients that they use. The interior decor has a traditional East Coast Boston vibe and the outside seating has a great view of the courtyard where you do some serious people watching. In the end we were completely stuffed, and left with great memories and a eagerness to come back for more! The total cost for this seafood dining experience for two was $51.93 and worth every penny! FYI, if you like soup, you need to indulge in their their seafood gumbo or their one-of-a-kind roasted jalapeno soup...... Mind blown emoji goes here!

FCG Recommendations from a prior employee: best appetizers: - Safe choice: Fried Calamari. Always good, never misses. 9/10 - Bold choice: Oyster nachos. If you've never had oysters because you're scared of them this is the best way to start. They are fried so they are not slimy. It comes with 5 or 6 little individual ones to try. They're fried oysters on top of a tortilla chip with chipotle tartar sauce and pico de gallo. Delicious! 10/10 Favorite soups: - Roasted Jalapeño soup (a little spicy) 9/10 - Crab Bisque 9/10 **Expert tip: if you get soup, ask for French bread!! It's not on the menu, but they have it and it's so good (and it's free!) Their sandwiches are good, but portion size is better for lunch. They are all 8 or 9/10. If you're in the mood for just some good ol' fried stuff, the Catfish, Shrimp & Oysters menu is great. The best bang for your buck is the Pick 3 Combo. You can get it fried, grilled or blackened or any combination of the 3! If it were me, I would do Fried Cod, Blackened catfish, and fried shrimp. Comes with coleslaw and fries, but you can sub the sides. I would get their hush puppies instead of coleslaw cause they are DELICIOUS! Okay now to the Favorites! They are literally ALL GOOD, buuuuuuut Amy's all time favorite order is... -SHRIMP AND CRAB STUFFED FLOUNDER!!! it has my heart. I could eat it every day. The one on the menu though comes with a dill beurre blanc sauce that I don't like. So if you're like me, ask them for no beurre blanc, sub jalapeño cream soup drizzle. Gives it the best flavor! Sides: keep the mashed potatoes and ask if they have broccolini or asparagus for the veggie. They normally have one or the other. Perfection 100/10 - Serafin's Fish Tacos!!! It is the staple of FCG and what they're known for. Also, it is SO FILLING. They are actually more like 2 giant burritos cut in half so it's 4 pieces total. 10/10 - Honey Chipotle Shrimp Tacos Perfect combo of tangy and sweet. Cilantro, avocado, TACOS? What more could you want? 10/10 Not even in the mood for seafood? No problem. - Grilled Chicken and Andouille. It's 2 chicken breasts and 4 andouille sausages all grilled to perfection on top of a plate of red beans and rice. I always recommend for non-seafood lovers. It is FILLING and AMAZING! 10/10 Now these are my recommendations on the regular menu, but they have chalkboard specials that change every day! Don't rule them out!!! Fav cocktails: - Hurricane or Prickly Pear Margarita! Enjoy!!!

Good restaurant for a casual dining experience. I highly recommend sitting outside since the patio at this location is directly on Central Green. If there are any events on the green, you'll have a great view. The food we've had has been good. Since we grill a lot of fish and shrimp at home, we tend to go here for fried fish. The fried catfish and shrimp is lightly breaded so it's not heavy. If you like a little spice, the Smokin' Hot Shrimp appetizer is a must try. The beer battered fish tends to be a little salty and the cole slaw had a weird taste to it. They used to have a kids fish stick meal but now it's changed to tilapia sticks and my daughter was not a fan.
