Bayou Cajun restaurant is CLOSED! This restaurant has obviously been closed for a while it is totally empty inside. Too bad no one updated this site. We wasted a Time and a trip to come here. Boohoo!! This was a real bummer.

We eat here often. Wonderful surf and turf, I get the filet with grilled shrimp, always cooked perfectly! Love the shrimp basket and also the pasta Pontchartrain! Love the staff and banana pudding!
We are hooked this place has the best chicken gumbo, fried shrimp, hush puppies, catfish as so on ,the waitress was excellent, I highly recommend you try it you will love it and return ,besides we enjoy our drive from San Antonio to Kerrville its beautiful. Can't wait to go back to Bayou Cajun.

The place is very unsanitary...food is not cooked all the way.. just not the best place to bring your family Very unhappy that this place is even open..do not eat here !! The public should know !!! They deserve to know what is really going on at this Place . This is not fair to the public..Close this store before u get more people sick .. I saw Roaches while I was eating so we left ..btw there is a big difference in the fried food since Taylor left ..His food came out delicious and looked very presentable..such a good guy.. good luck to owner !

We had an oyster poboy and Cajun pasta. They were both amazing and we are not strangers to Cajun cooking.Service was spot on.Definitely coming back and bringing friends!!
Upon entering, we had a wait at the door. The greeter was running around in the restaurant bringing meals from the kitchen. We were seated, ordered appetizers and a drink. The appetizers came pretty fast. We ordered our meal. It took over an hour and a half for our meal to arrive. I looked around at people that came in with us or close to our time. They had not received their meals either. Need more staff and more cook staff. Food was ok, I will not be going back nor recommend this restaurant. The restaurant was not that crowded.

Fried well & seasoned well. Not much else you can ask for at a country Cajun place. It looked clean enough & service was friendly. They're currently in the process of getting a drink menu printed so the drinks & desserts are displayed a TV screen that changes every 30 seconds or so & it's hard to see depending on where you sit- just ask your waiter to tell you what's on it. Ours gave solid beer recs.Altogether a great place but I don't recommend this restaurant for many allergies/ food intolerances. Tbf- I don't recommend eating in this whole town if you have diet restrictions though hahaVegetarian options: Fried pickles, hush puppies, not sure what elseDietary restrictions: Not a good option for many dietary restrictions

Went for lunch and it was incredible gator bites - 8/10Boudin balls - 8/10Hush puppies - 6/10Shrimp boil - 10/10Cold beer - 10/10Service - 10/10I totally recommend the seafood boil because they load it up with potatoes, corn, and sausage. I wasn't a huge fan of the sausage. Also they have three spice levels for all!Enjoy!

Based on previous reviews, sounds like their steaks are not prepared well. I can happily share that our seafood dishes are amazing. I ordered the seafood scampi which had large prawns, scallops and mussels and it was one of the best dishes I’ve ever had at a restaurant. The other half ordered the crawfish etouffee and he really enjoyed his dish.The waitress was absolutely fabulous and attentive. The restaurant was bright, clean and really nice. Definitely one of the best restaurants in Kerrville.
