Food is prepared while you wait. Chicken tenders or fish. Even the chicken livers are very nice. Eat in or take out. I highly recommend this place.

What a traditional and delicious place to eat. The ladies working the counter were genuine and helpful. Crispy chicken was excellent and next time I'll try their regular chicken. Okra, and fries are good. I did not like the coleslaw but you might. I'll eat there again.

The outside of the restaurant is an unassuming building, with a for sale sign in the front flowerbed. The inside is Alright, it is an older building. Women's bathroom was out of order. The service was great, everyone was nice and talkative. Food came out relatively quick. We got chicken tenders and fried catfish, with sides of fries, fried okra, and mac and cheese. It was less than $30 for all of that with 2 small drinks. The catfish was alright, 6/10, but the fried chicken tender on the other hand were a 10/10 they were amazinggg. Okra was good and crispy, 8/10 The fries were also good and an 8/10, The white cheddar mac and cheese on the other hand, was the best I have ever had, it was thick and creamy.10/10 The portion sizes were more than generous.

I just moved to Texas from California and this is my favorite place to eat (my 5 year old is obsessed too and asks for it every time)! Best Mac and cheese, best baked beans, and best fried chicken! Oh, and have you tried the hushpuppies?? Extremely drool-worthy! Best I've ever had! Someone in that kitchen is doing it RIGHT!
No reason 3 little pieces of fish, 6 shrimp, a 2 piece kids tender, 4 jalapeno poppers, and a sweet tea should be close to 40 dollars. They don't have key lime pie anymore, didn't have banana pudding, didn't have sliced lemon for seafood, and when I went back in to ask for lemon juice packets, she acted judgemental because I told her I needed more than 3 because I like a lot of lemon with seafood and they are small and then she said with an attitude that was all they had back there. Like I'm sorry you ran out but why is that my fault? Giving two stars because the food tasted good but other than that, overpriced and staff needs a briefing on how to interact with customers. It's a shame Kilgore Seafood isn't open on Sundays cause I much rather would have gone there. Never again.

best chicken in East Texas by a MILE!I do wish their menu was easier to read though. it's confusing what exactly you're ordering and how much it costs. it's on a couple of TVs on the wall so it would be an easy fix.other than that it's probably one of the best food places in Kilgore!
