I ordered green beans. There were about 6 green beans in a cup of onions. Ordered crispy cat fish. It was soggy. Pinto beans had no flavor at all. The hush puppies were raw in the middle. I won't be going back.

The food was fair but the service was extremely slow for a restaurant that was not close to being busy. Not worth the price.

Went with a large group last night. We were seated right away (there were only a handful of people there), but it took forever for our server to take our drink order. She finally did, and eventually brought our drinks out. She then took our entree order and disappeared for a long time. We eventually got our food, asked for refills on our drinks and started eating. The food was just bad. None of it was great. My husband had the brisket quesadillas. It was an enormous portion, but there was so much sauce and grease that they were impossible to eat. I had the baked potato with bbq. It was cold and undercooked, and all of the brisket on it was either total fat or completely crunchy/burnt. No real meat to enjoy. The bbq sauce was nothing special. The kids had chicken nuggets and fries, but the chicken nuggets were so over cooked they couldn't eat them. We definitely won't go back.

My family tried this restaurant during the pandemic and the food wasn't great, and we were the only ones in the restaurant. We kind of assumed that they were slow due to covid and gave them the benefit of the doubt, thinking that the food wasn't up to par because of the lack customers. We decided to give them another try tonight... and it was the same experience. We all ordered different meats and sides so we had a variety of food. The brisket is extremely dry, some slices were so dry they were hard. The pork ribs and sausage were also very dry. The pulled pork is smothered in basic (overly sweet) bbq sauce... just way too much sauce, you can't even taste the meat itself. All the meat is almost flavorless, it's like they don't season or even salt it. The mac and cheese is just Velveeta, the corn is from a can, the Mexican rice (served with the tacos) was like mush, the French fries were probably the best part of the meal but were also unseasoned and not salted. The staff is very friendly but the service is extremely slow. We were one of only 3 families in the restaurant, so it doesn't seem like we should have had to wait 25 minutes for food, especially since it all came out cold. The atmosphere is nice. The kids like the animals around the outside of the building and inside is decorated in a cute western/country style, my only criticism is the chairs and booths; they're old, uncomfortable and outdated.I checked the reviews before we went today and saw a mix of positive and negative, you can definitely trust the negative reviews. I want to love this place but it just simply is not worth the money. Any money. It's the equivalent of going to someone's house, who's cooking BBQ for the first time, and just having to eat it to be polite. Definitely not worth $70 for a family of 4.This will be our last visit, unless they change ownership or cooks. Save your money, find another bbq place.

Went to Big Hoss BBQ in the Food Court at the main PX on Ft Cavazos. Their smoked pork chop is huge and very good! I highly recommend checking them out.

I'm very sad to say that 3 out of 4 dishes were almost inedible. The brisket was dry and no smoke ring, sausage was gross and inedible, pulled pork was chewy n inedible. The bottle of BBQ was too vinegary. For the price you pay it definitely wasn't worth it. The baked potato was dry and meh. The side salads and chicken fried chicken were good. Atmosphere was nice and very friendly service.

This restaurant probably used to be really good, our experience was not great. The food is only okay. I had the brisket and baby back ribs with potatoe salad and sweet potato fries. The baby back ribs were good but was somewhat cold when we got the food, the brisket was extremely fatty and hard to eat. Was hoping for some real texas barbecue but was definitely let down.
