Being born and raised in SC I’ve been missing good southern cooking from home! So I was very excited to try this restaurant. The atmosphere and location are both very peaceful and the staff were also very pleasant!I got the 6pc Fried Chicken wings and tried their Macaroni and cheese, cabbage (wanted collards but they were out), and their rice and gravy. The food was a bit too salty and peppery for my liking. The rice was salted a long with the gravy being salty. The chicken was salty along with the batter of the chicken being salty. The cabbage was decent but too overcooked for my liking. I liked the consistency of the Mac and Cheese just not the seasoning as it was also salty and peppery.I understand different areas in the south have different ways of cooking it’s just their style was not MY preference. But overall a comfortable establishment.

Collards were too sweet less sugar, some vinegar will do. Tartar sauce was sweet as well The catfish, chicken and shrimp were good.

I feel like their food is cooked for someone on a bland food diet. It's a busy place on a Sunday. But the wait time to place a called-in carry out order is ridiculous. Also, how do you get an order wrong that was written down and repeated back to the caller?!

The food was very good, as well as the customer service. Our only gripe would be the ventilation systems. It would be great if there is an upgrade in the near future. Great Place!

First time there wish I could give 10 stars Food prepared when order just outstanding. Service excellent lovely inside the restaurant. Can't wait to take family & friends there. We order the basket contains chicken wings fries and shrimp ,catfish delicious.

Wow!! Was only in Killeen for a couple of days and went here after my first choice restaurant was closed, so glad I ended up here! This is soul food with so much soul it ought be be illegal! So, the wait is pretty long and I was very patient Hoping for the best, it was about an hour between sitting down and food coming out, but you know what? I would have waited twice as long for it, I think they went to Heaven itself to cook it! I got the mosquito beach meal, 2 pieces of fried catfish, grits, collard greens, cornbread, and sweet tea. Catfish, the absolute best I've ever had, perfect flavor, perfect breading, legit!! Grits, perfect! Collard greens, didn't leave one leaf! Cornbread, amazing! Sweat tea, you guessed it, perfectly sweet and amazing! You could tell most people had come here right after church (noon on Sunday), Christian music playing over the speakers, I felt like the food was like extended worship of all of the great things in Gods creation! I wanted to put my hands up in praise! Seriously, check this place out!
