Highly recommend! The chicken fried chicken was my husband’s favorite meal on our vacation! The service and live music were both fantastic too.

Just cube steak with lots of gristle. Very disappointing. Baked potatoe was good. Ice tea was great. I would have given higher rating but it was all about the chicken fried steak.

My wife and I went there for dinner. They have a extensive menu, so you won't have trouble finding something you like. They bring you home made fresh rolls and cornbread to the table so beware that you will fill up before you get your meal. The food was excellent and the staff was very friendly. Definitely recommend this place for a nice outing.

The service was slow and the food was mediocre at best. Not worth it. I expected at least good service, from the ratings, but it wasn't that great. My husband's food was undercooked and the gumbo was burnt. Honestly, I have had better experiences at McDonald's.

The food at The Southern Komfort Kitchen is very good. The portion sizes will really fill you up. My wife and I had the Seafood Platter with Fried Oysters, Grilled Shrimp, Stuffed Crab and Blackened Catfish Filet and 2 sides - Onion Rings and Fried Okra. We were both stuffed. Next time, I would not have the catfish Blackened and I would try a different side than Okra. The children's menu was reasonably priced at $5.95. The Cheeseburger and French Fries and Coke were large and good. We loved the Wildlife pictures and Stuffed Animals - especially the Grizzly Bear and Mountain Lions. The service was excellent. We would definitely return when we come back to La Porte

OK, Let's start by saying I have been going here for many years by myself and bringing clients. I have seen it good and bad with management changes etc. One thing I can always say is the food is excellent. Now, I just went today at 11;300 for lunch the young server (wished I would have got his name) was nice at first but a horrible server. It took him literally 10 minutes to take my drink order, I literally received the dinner cornbread before he took my drink order. So then I order a fried mushroom appetizer and ordered my lunch plate at the same time. The mushrooms came out quickly, but i waited and waited and waited finally after 50 minutes being seated I asked another server to check on my food, she said OK but never came to tell me anything, finally after waiting a solid hour I got up and went to the cash register and requested my check for the mushrooms and tea. My server came and I asked what happened and I said this is horrible I have been here an hour and no food, he said do you see how busy we are i looked around and only half the tables are being used due to the distancing so I said you are not that busy and that I have seen this place completely full many times, he just shrugged with an attitude and gave me my bill. No let me make it right, apology or anything. Frankly I am starting to see why the Pipeline Grill is taking a lot of their business.

Food has always been great. Service has always been hit or miss. I think the hardest part is seeing the waitstaff doing nothing and waiting for food to be delivered or watching several tables that ordered after we did being served by an older gentleman while the high school college age staff not doing their duties. I wonder if anyone has ever explained gratuities to them.

This restaraunt is the pitome of good southern comfort food. Good menu selection, good food, good service. The parking is adequate. Decor is fitting for the area.

Bad New Owner....!!!! Was charged extra $2 for item I always get without being told by waiter. After meaningless discussion with new owner, he got mad and left table. Upon exiting I was yelled at by the owner to get out of his restaurant or he would call the police....!!! La Porte please join me in avoiding this restaurant.

Do you work for a living? Hungry? This is the place for you!! A local intrduced me to this cafe a couple weeks ago and I've eaten there twice. Had the same thing both times. Chicken Tenders(warning, this is not a kids meal!) If you have kids, you could feed both of them from one of these! Food is good, location is easy to find. Free ice cream cone for the road too!! My only negative is that they still allow a smoking section as of April 2010. The section was far enough away that I didn't smell it, but still.....
