It will surprise you. It is not what you think. When I think of a VFW I think of a bunch of curmudgeons just sitting around smoking and drinking cheap beer. It is not that at all.First off Its smoke free indoors. You dont have to be a veteran nor a member to go in. It's very laid back and casual. Staff is friendly and the atmosphere is welcoming. Inexpensive drinks. Everyday has something different to do from Shuffle board tournaments, 8 ball tournaments, poker nights, bingo nights, karaoke nights, and live music some weekends with NO cover charge. They even boast 22 large screen TVs with The NFL Ticket. The event hall is available for rent. I have no reason to rent out the hall but it's so cheap to rent it makes me want to.

The people were friendly. I would of liked to return actually. Unfortunately, I can't stand the smell of smoke. It smells very strong. Nauseating, actually. I'm not sure if they allow smoking or not. I did not see anyone smoking...so either they need to have professionals come in a remove the deep ingrained smells in their building or not have smoking. Either way...it smells strong. So if you can't handle strong cigarette smoke... reconsider.

I recently had the pleasure of attending a bingo night at VFW Post 10460 Lake Dallas, and I must say it was an absolutely fantastic experience! The highlight of the evening was Phil Marquez, the talented bingo caller, who did an outstanding job keeping the energy high and ensuring everyone had a great time. His enthusiasm and professionalism were truly impressive! The VFW Post itself is a welcoming and friendly place. The cocktails and beer selection were top-notch, offering a wide variety to suit everyone's taste. Kudos to the Jackie and Krissi for their skillful concoctions! As for the food, it was simply outstanding! Steak night was on point, and the portion sizes were generous. It's clear that the kitchen volunteers take pride in their culinary creations.Beyond the bingo and food, the atmosphere at VFW Post 10460 Lake Dallas was warm and inviting. The overall ambiance was comfortable and relaxing, making it an ideal spot to unwind with friends and family. I genuinely appreciated the sense of community and camaraderie that permeated the place.I highly recommend VFW Post 10460 Lake Dallas to anyone looking for a fun-filled evening. Whether you're attending a bingo night or simply dropping by for a drink and a bite to eat, you're guaranteed a memorable experience. This is a cool place to wind down after a day at work or to play pool, listen to live bands, etc.Almost like Cheers, where everybody knows your name. The patio is now open and feels cozy while accommodating at least 30 ppl. We've rented the backroom for a gender reveal party, and recently, someone had their wedding there.Every Fri night, the VFW hosts either bingo or steak/ burger night alternately. You really can't go wrong with this post. Drinks & food are very reasonable. I love it.

Girls night! My friends and I were pleasantly surprised by this place. We were invited to go and not that excited to be honest. Thought it was just gonna be a bunch of old guys drinking. But we were wrong.Turns out it was pretty cool. There were people of all ages, couples, etc. There was even a pretty popular band I saw in Denton a couple of times!People were nice, drinks were cheap and we were able to hang out and just have a good time. Surprise of the year. We will definitely be back!

This place is THE neighborhood bar to go to. And if you want to go where everyone knows your name, then give this place a shot. Staff and patrons are friendly. They have special steak and burger nights with prices that are more than reasonable. And there is BBQ there a lot of times. And now they are a legit BINGO house every Friday night at 6. There must have been 30-40 families playing and having a good time. Being smoke free helps. I think usually there is also a band playing every other week. And I heard there is weekly Karaoke, not sure what night though.Plus the alcohol is unbelievably cheap! My 5 friends and I were there for 3 hours and the tab was only like $60 . Ridiculous!!! And the best part is you don't have to be a member or even a veteran to go there! I didn't know that. It's open to anyone who wants to go there. Apparently, its a charity run by the members so all the profit goes to charity. I heard they are building a pretty sophisticated smoking patio too with air conditioning. Not sure when that goes up though. But it's a really cool little dive bar really close to the lake and they are open every day of the year. I would definitely check it out if you are in the area.
