I've been to discount bakeries before, but not one in Denton since Mrs. Baird's closed down. I didn't actually know this one was even here as I didn't find it noticeable from the street in it's unassuming lot. My husband came home with some wheat hoagie rolls and said he was happy with his sandwiches, so I told him to bring me on his next visit. We checked them out this Saturday and it's about what you would expect. The bread products have quick expirations. The sell by date is either going to be that day or maybe up to 2-3 days away. They are good for about a week after that. They have tasty cakes, nutrigrain bars, danishes and other snacks. There is a small selection of crackers, chips and soup mixes. They also have the bread buddies, which were useful. Prices range from $0.75 to $2.50. That higher price was for Dave's Killer Bread. I was excited to see a selection of 3 types and 2 sizes of each. A colleague had raved about this bread and I hadn't tried it yet, so glad to get a discount on it. Note, this is organic so it doesn't last as long as the other bread and it's recommended you put it in the fridge to get the most time out of it. We dealt with two staff members there and the staff is very friendly and helpful and clearly knowledgeable. They also keep their small location very clean and organized. Some of the deals could have been better, mostly with the sweet items, they ranged in the gas station pricing. However, the bread was a great deal and most items were as expected. As far as selection goes, I've seen a larger selection, both in variety and chips/snack items, at other discount bakeries. However, this is the only one in town I'm currently aware of and the selection is good enough for most people's prepackaged needs. We were happy with our purchases and plan to stop in occasionally.

Discount stores are always a great find. Flowers is actually a large bakery that supplies most all of the grocery stores in the DFW area. They make Sunbeam, Nature's Own and they distribute Tastykakes. They are located here in Denton. I made a visit to the store and of course the prices are great. Only a $1.50 for a loaf of bread (good bread) vs 2-3 bucks in the stores. Nine grain, 12 grain, honey wheat, rye and many that you don't find in the store. There are plenty without high fructose corn syrup as well. There were types of sugar free Tastykakes that I had never seen before. Friendly staff and I will go back to stockpile my freezer.
