The only thing that saves this place is the service. The queso was watery and you get your food in less than 4 mins. We wont return.

This is our first visit. We came based on recommendations from Nextdoor app. The staff is attentive and friendly. I ordered puffy tacos but the tacos were not puffy. It appeared to be a corn tortilla deep fried, not puffy. Like most reviews, the food was not hot. I love my food served HOT. I ordered borracho beans, but the beans served were plain pinto beans. These beans had no onion, no jalapeno, no cilantro, and no flavor. We are new to HOUSTON and maybe this is how did is cooked out here, but we are accustomed to a different way cooking. Like puffy taco have a little puff in the corn tortilla and borracho beans have a lot of flavor with all the extra ingredients. I want to try it again... would it be considered rude, now a days, to request hot food?

I've been wanting to try Esteban's for a while because it's one of the few places that sell puffy tacos in the Houston area. The restaurant seems to be busy all the time, so decided to check it out. We ordered the puffy tacos and tacos al carbon.Unfortunately, the food was underwhelming. The puffy tacos were greasy and only lukewarm. The shell fell apart by the time it arrived at the table. The fajita meat was bland. The rice was also bland and cold. I think this was the first time we never finished a bowl of chips and salsa. This was probably my least favorite salsa at any restaurant. Even the tea was watered down.This will be our first and last visit. Too bad because I wanted to like it. There are too many other good Tex-Mex restaurants in the area to waste my time here.

Date night with hubby. The waiter was awesome. However, my soup wasn't hot, not even warm. I don't like returning food, so I said it was okay. The other food was pretty good.

Love this place, its a local spot. I mostly always get take out here? Chips and queso. But i find that the food here is pretty good. The place is a little old and outdated i feel like, but they do have good food. The bar atmosphere is fun. We have met all kinds of interesting people here.

We found this place by accident because it was the closest to a delivery I needed to make & since I don’t live in league city!! I got a combanation plate and my hubby got the chile renello and it was great! The taco and cheese enchiladas was on point and the chile renellio was one of the best my hubby was impressed!! Price was great also and definite place to come back to!! ??????
