Their service is no very good, Their food not that good either, and the portions are very small compared to what they where some years ago. Total disappointment on the last 4 times that I had been there. I not going back and definitely I don't recommend it, they dropped the ball big time.

Was in DFW for a wedding. This spot was right next to my hotel. I was pleasantly surprised to find this gem in North TX. Aw Shucks has tastier fare than plenty of seafood shacks I've had on the Gulf Coast! Over 2 visits, I had their shrimp po boy, half dozen raw oysters, side salad, shrimp cocktail, clam chowder, and blackened catfish.The fry on the po-boy was light, crisp, and not too greasy. The oysters were perfectly briney and clean. They have a custom condiments bar where you can mix your own sauce to taste. Side salad had quality greens and a ripe piece of avocado, which was a nice balance to the other rich food I was eating.The shrimp cocktail is generous. It is served in a beer mug that was literally overflowing with shrimp dusted in seasoning. You can adjust the heat level of the appetizer, and the sauce had the freshness of a gazpacho. The chowder was nice and fairly light. The amount of potatoes gave the soup some starch, and thickened the broth without having to over-rely on heavy cream. The blackened catfish was perfectly crisp and flaky.Staff was very friendly. Jackson was the cashier, and he answered my menu questions quickly and clearly. The other staff who checked in on me were also nice. Fun beach side music playlist made the whole experience feel like a mini gulf-coast vacation.

We had not eaten here in quite a while, but we went for the crawfish. It was a little vinegary, but all in all it was GREAT. (We did spicy garlic) I also ordered blackened catfish, and hubby got fried shrimp and catfish. We both enjoyed our meals.

My lady and I stopped by for dinner. I ordered the 3 piece catfish filets, fries, no slaw, extra hush puppies. My lady ordered the shrimp, fries, no slaw extra hush puppies. We both agreed the fish and the shrimp were unseasoned. I thought the fries were the best part of the meal. We both agreed they gave us good portions. I didn’t really like the structure. You order at the front desk and then you seat yourself anywhere. Also, there was a bad smell near the front desk while we were waiting in line to order. (I don’t know if that was the smell in the building, or if someone forgot to fully wipe before coming here) They call you to pick your order up from the pick-up counter. We sat at a booth, but the area felt crowded at times as people were entering and leaving our area.Overall, I’ll give it a 2

Food was amazing (update I have food poisoning now so disregard the one attempt I made to shed a little positive light on this place) .. the service was awful ...you walk into to a classic seafood restaurant atmosphere then get treated like it's McDonald's...they have waitresses bit you still order at the registers...get up to get your drink refills and have to make your own sauces ...like literally make them ...like mix the ingredients....which would be fine if they didnt awkwardly stair you down when you pay to see if you over ride there 18-22% mandatory tipping....so basically you over tip for basically doing your own work . Not to mention not one waitress even bothered to check on us ...why do they even have them .
Craving fish on a Lenten Friday, wr couldn't wait to get in the front door. So Happy to see we had plenty of room. We ordered the sweet shrimp cocktail and we ordered a basket of shrimp and fish; and we were in heaven! Thank you the fast service & delicious food, all was well!Get Outlook for Android

I had the Friday lunch special at AW Shucks and it was delicious. The catfish and shrimp were fried nice and crispy and the serving was generous. I was very pleased with how quickly my order was delivered. I definitely will return.
