We were seated immediately on a Friday night. Waiter was friendly. I had shrimp fajita with a michelada. Both were great. Typical Mexican restaurant atmosphere.

Well, the food must be OK. When we were there, two Hispanic families were there with all the many members of the family. To the relatively unpracticed, amateur consumer of Mexican food, I thought the quality of the food was more or less typical of many such restaurants--it did not distinguish itself in any way. Prices were perhaps a $1 a menu item more than at similar restaurants I have frequented in the last few months. However, the service was laughably--if you have sense to humor. I ordered a beer, it was delivered to the table in a can with no accompanying glass. So, I immediately asked for a glass--then again, and then again over a period of ten minutes. After three requests, a glass was finally brought to the table--ten minutes after the beer arrived. And then five minutes after the glass was delivered, the very same server brought another glass--he evidently forgot he had just brought a glass to the table. All of this while there were very few patrons in the restaurant--what might happen if they were busy I'll leave to your imagination.

AWFUL FOOD! It took an hour for our drinks to come, burrito was completely bread. The rice was hard as a rock. My kid cried when he had to finish his burrito. Will not be back. My other kid got diarrhea and couldn’t flush the toilet. The whole place smelled like ??

The food was good at first. Recently the pupusas are making them like gorditas.

Quality of the food doesn't match the ridiculous price tag. Stay on Main Street new spend a few extra dollars. It'll be worth it.

My family was craving Mexican so we tried El Ranchero Loco. Got 4 entrees to go. Service was fast and easy. The good. The food quality was very good. The steak and chicken was well seasoned and tender and th shrimp were just right. We got a full back of chips and a togo container of salsa with the order. The bad. The prices were different than what was advertised (higher). My daughter ordered the shrimp tacos salad which was $3 more than advertised and she only got about 7 shrimp and only a tbsp of guacamole. My Texas fajitas were on point but the beans and salad were just ok.The ugly. It was a good meal and cost $60 for 4 of us (not bad) but the skimpy "d'accompagnement" and incorrect pricing takes it down a notch. 3.5 stars

In a world full of the same old "Mexican" restaurants El Ranchero is a gem.We arrived around 1pm and it was just a bit busy. But we were seated right away. Of course you get the usual chips and salsa. And the salsa was very good.We ordered, she got the taco salad and I got the burrito tejano. Everything was seasoned well. Most of these places only add the ingredients inside, bland as can be and ride on the fact of the queso or sauce on the outside to flavor the burrito. Not El Ranchero, they actually season all the ingredients on the inside like they care about what they're doing.I have found my new favorite Mexican place and will be back again and again. Oh and it's close to Dollywood so there is a bonus right there!

It was great food, excellent service and I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone. The chicken was tender and the salsa and queso was delicous.

TLDR: Delicious, flavorful, and affordable food with large portions and welcoming, efficient employees. Beer is served, no mixed drinks.Excellent food and customer service! We stopped here on Cinco de Mayo expecting a long wait. The parking lot was full and we found a spot in the back. Several people were waiting for tables. An efficient, fast moving employee greeted us and informed us that our table would be ready in about 10 minutes. About 5 minutes later we were seated. Soon after we were greeted by our waitress. She was also friendly and efficient. We received chips, salsa, drinks, extra chips, and entrees quickly. Our drinks were refilled and dirty dishes removed often. Even in the fast-paced environment, we never felt rushed. Only beer was available regarding alcoholic drinks which was fine. We enjoyed each of our entrees. The portions were large, prices affordable, and entrees flavorful. The restaurant was loud and decorated for Cinco De Mayo. Overall, we had a great meal and recommend this restaurant to others!

We recently had dinner here. We tried it as it was always busy and the reviews were good. There was 6 in our group so we tried an assortment of their dinner options. Overall we found everything to be just Okay. We have had better and we have had worse. The food lacked flavors and should have been served at a warmer temperature. The service was good throughout dinner until the end. We didn't receive a check just told to go to the front to pay. Once there didn't have a chance to review it before it was rung up. So, we paid our bill and left.We didn't try any other Mexican restaurants so I can recommend a different one.

Excellent food and service! I highly recommend if you are looking for authentic Mexican food. Very reasonably priced.
