March 2023. Save your money.Ordered a cake for my daughters 5th birthday. We asked for a chocolate cake decorated as a rainbow kitty. The owner said she could do something Lisa Frank inspired, and we agreed. The cake we got was not what we agreed to on the outside (it was a solid purple kitty), but it was cute and we didn’t have any other options last minute, so took it. When we cut into the cake later on, we were disappointed yet again. Cake was not chocolate and honestly tasted like a store bought vanilla box cake. The frosting tasted store bought and looked like food coloring was probably just added to it. The outside and inside of the business was also disgusting and practically falling down. Expected a rat to run by at any minute. Definitely not a $50 cake.

Absolutely amazing ordered a 1/4 sheet cake for my son's birthday party (Naruto themed). Cake was exactly what he wanted, my son wanted a carrot cake but I told her I wanted to order a white one instead to accommodate for everyone. She surprised us and with a small carrot cake. And the cake was delicious hands down Mrs. Bass is the best baker in town I highly recommend!!!

I needed a last minute simple wedding cake for this weekend and Golden Flake was able to provide us with a cake. The cake looked good on the outside and kept its shape on our way home. The only issues I had was the storefront and the cake taste. I definitely hold sympathy for everyone with small businesses as I have one myself and know what it’s like. When I went to pick up the cake, the front of the store looked like it had been out of business for a long time, with a sign on the door telling you to call when you arrive. Upon entering to collect our cake, the store was full of empty refrigerators and shelves. It was very dusty and dirty with a strong smell of asbestos. Honestly the store reminded me of an abandoned building. The owner was very sweet and boxed up our cake, however, it was dark and grimy in the building and unfortunately the cake tasted just the way the store smelt. The cake looked great but unfortunately wasn’t a hit at the wedding.

I feel so blessed to have come upon Golden Flake Bakery. A neighbor recently moved from FL to TX and I was looking for a bakery online to bake a birthday cake for her. I called Golden Flake Bakery by chance and they were very accommodating. They sent me a picture of the cake that was beyond my expectations. My friend just raved about the cake and loved the frosting. Her husband who isn't into cake said he really liked the cake and even had some for breakfast the next day. I would strongly encourage folks to check this gem of a bakery out. I've never had a business go out of their way for a one-time customer. I can't imagine what they do for their regular ones!

My wedding was a last minute,Thanksgiving Wedding. I was sad that I wasn’t going to have the traditional cake tasting. I called Golden flake bakery in hopes that it was not to late to get a wedding cake. They agreed to make me a two tiered cake. I drive down to find out my choices and finalize everything. I was torn between two different centers. To my surprise the owner went back and put together a small cake with each half of the two choices. I Got My CakeTasting! I was able to take the rest home to my husband to be and have him have a tasting as well.We were so stuffed from thanksgiving that when it came time to cut the cake, our bites were so tiny that we really did not get a good taste. Our cake was put in a walk in freezer on November 25th. Today is December 15th and we brought home the bottom portion of our cake and thawed it out. We had a piece tonight and it was so moist and delicious. I hear that their donuts and pastries are great too so I will definitely try them as well.

We had a huge last minute order of pies for our work customers and they did not hesitate to take it!! I ordered them Friday and they were all ready Monday!! I will continue to use them!! We appreciate you all at Golden Flake Bakery!!
