We enjoyed breakfast here so much yesterday that we came back again! The food is so tasty, options for those who are "spice shy", and a friendly atmosphere with super attentive staff. More busy today and the same great level of service. Prices exceptional. You are going to enjoy this meal!

Go to Montelongo's if you want delicious authentic Tex Mex. The place is simple in decor, giving one the sense of being in Mexico. The menu is displayed on the wall, and dining options are listed by numbers to be ordered before seating. Seating is mainly 4 top tables on concrete floors with expected echoing but once the food is presented all that becomes unimportant because of delicious plates you have ordered.

Was recommended to this place by locals. Went there and it appears family owned, and all staff were exceptionally nice. Food was average at best, rice had no taste. Salsa is HOT, and I eat hot stuff. I asked for another and they brought basically tomato sauce. I mixed them. The fajitas were good but certainly nothing special. No alcohol.

The day after Christmas, Sweetie and I were driving around after taking our pup to the dog park. We feasted on Christmas day and were discussing whether to have leftovers for dinner. I wanted to cruise Clovis Road because of all the great restaurant reviews I've read. We ended up here. We went in, ordered and OMG they brought us a feast of Mexican cuisine!! This is the best we have had in th 20+ years we have been together. We will be back!!!

WOW!!! I had the beef fajitas. I'm allergic to cheese so that is all I ever order. The beef was very good quality meat, tender, juicy and perfectly seasoned. The green & red peppers and onions were the right size and not the least bit mushy or greasy. Loved the guacamole and awesome red salsa. The rice and beans were just right. Everything was flavorful and served hot. Flour tortillas were soft and fluffy. In 20+ years living in TX and NM, that was the absolute best fajitas I've ever had. The owner was very welcoming and the staff was friendly and attentive. The restaurant was clean clean clean. Friendly, relaxed family atmosphere.

By far...the best Mexican food in Lubbock....previous post....go back to New Mexico! You can tell by the regulars...always there....quality ingredients.....and a plus...BYOB.....can’t beat that.

Out of 4 of us that went 3 of us hated it. I tried the. Enchiladas, nasty, my wife had menudo, she didn't like it, our grandson's girlfriend had Barbacoa, she didn't like it. Our grandson will eat anything so he said it passed. We left our food after tasting it. We are from New Mexico and are use to great food. Come on Lubbock is that all you've got?

Most meals of excellent quality. Menu very authentic and reasonably priced. Love the chips they put on the table as well as the salsa. Only complaint is the toilet area which is inadequate for the size of restaurant.

I love Mexican food and Montelongo's for me is the very best locally! Nice atmosphere, friendly staff and the best Menudo in town, I have had the enchiladas and they were excellent. It is the best Mexican food restaurant in Lubbock!

This place really needs a drive-thru. I called in my order, showed up 10 minutes later and the line was out the door. I left. I'm not waiting 15 minutes in line to pick up a couple burritos. Out of courtesy, I called them from the parking lot to let them know I'm not picking up my order because I only get 30 minutes for lunch. They put me on hold. After 5 minutes, I hung up. Ridiculous! Go to Josie's. Good and fast.

Montelongo's is as authentic a Mexican restaurant as I have ever visited. The food is outstanding and is only surpassed by the incredible service. We did not know they do not serve alcohol. They have a BYOB policy. Not knowing where to go, they volunteered to send a runner to the nearest liquor store to find pre-mixed tequila. I have never experienced hospitality and service like this, not even in a Ritz Carlton. Put this place on your bucket list.

Stopped by here when our regular Tex-Mex restaurant was closed. Was pleasantly pleased. You order when you walk in and then are seated and brought out homemade chips and salsa. The portions are very large and the service is very good. I prefer Tex-Mex but this was very good authentic Mexican food. Wish the cheese enchiladas had a sauce and didnt have quite so much stringy cheese but overall, we enjoyed the meal and would go here again.
