My friends and I came to Funky Door for brunch yesterday to celebrate my 21st birthday and it was so good! Our server, Gavin, did a great job taking care of us and decorating the table super cute before we got there. We all shared the mimosa tower which was perfect for the five of us! Also, I recommend the bang bang shrimp and the spinach artichoke fondue, so good!

We went for Easter brunch and made our reservation for 2:30, which was our mistake as we didn't realize they close at 3:00. They should definitely take the last reservation at 2:00. They were out of one of their Easter specials and both online and on the menu in house they have items listed that they no longer have available. Our table was tiny and wobbly and our fondue appetizer and meals all came out together so everything was very crammed together. Service was moderately slow. My steak was overcooked but the fondue was good. We tried to order dessert but were told the kitchen is closed. Ambience is fantastic. Hopefully it was just a hectic day due to it being a holiday.

We have been here a million times and always had a good experience. However, the other day the hostess accidentally scheduled our reservation for the wrong day(which wasn’t a big deal), but then wanted a $10 deposit PER HEAD for the next day at the correct time. We ended up just cancelling it altogether and will be going somewhere else. Never heard of a restaurant doing this and also, SO RUDE!

Music at night. Lobster Mac and cheese, fondue and am excellent wine selection. Great for groups of all sizes and super chic!

Top notch food and wine. Fresh calamari appetizer was perfect. I had the Chicken Marsala-it was superb, our guests had the burgers and my wife, who has celiac, was able to order a burger and capresie salad off the menu and their kitchen is well versed in ensuring there's no cross contamination. Great atmosphere, live music, superior service, and the best food in Lubbock. Get over there now!Dietary restrictions: As I mentioned, my wife is celiac and the server was very well educated on allergies and their procedures. Highly recommended for anyone with a food allergy that wants to be able to have a nice meal at a fine restaurant.

My family and some friends came here 23MAR24 around 5:00pm-5:30pm, the restaurant wasn’t empty but we easily got seated. The ambiance was nice enough and staff were friendly and professional. The food was just ok and took us more than 1 hour to get our main meal. For the prices on their menu, you would think the quality of food would be better. My Chicken Marsala had overcooked chicken and hardly any flavor or sauce to it. (I’ve had chicken marsala plenty of times in my life and the staple to that dish should be the wine based sauce and mushrooms. This dish had none of that; very disappointing! My daughter had the same dish with the same critique on it.To top it off, none of my friends enjoyed their meals. Nice looking place but never again.

Celebrated my son's 21st birthday tonight. We had Sangria and he received a complimentary glass of champagne. The sangria was nice. Started with fried pickles and then lobster Mac and cheese, and a porterhouse. The food was excellent, and server Kiley made sure his experience was perfect. Dessert was cheesecake flambe. The music was enjoyable, not so loud as to be obnoxious. Thank you!

Great food! The service was wonderful! Our server was very knowledgeable about the food and wine.Vegetarian options: Only a few vegetarian options. A salad isn’t much of an option, but the squash lasagna was great!

My wife go on dates here often but there are much better options in Lubbock.Overall, I would say it is overpriced and the food is very ok.In addition, I get the impression that waiters are trying to upsell everything. So if you are given an option ask for the price.I would just ask the price before ordering anything. One time I ordered the “house Cabernet” which in my experience is the cheap option… NOPE! It was $28 a glass! Felt very misled.

Pros: *Fun "upscale" vibe especially for Lubbock *Cool decor with pretty wine tower/cellar *A live country western singer *Good service, timely *clean bathrooms Cons: *Singer super loud so hard to hear over the music which gets annoying after awhile when you're trying to have conversations. *Food is just "okay" - got the salmon it was tough/over done. Tough steak bits on top of lobster Mac which was an odd combo. *Wine selection could def be better. They were out of one listed and the italian one I chose was just not good. Opted for another Malbec same thing. Husband got a Pinot Noir and that tasted like grape juice. *Several bdays going on around the restaurant, our table had one too...We brought in a cake our waitress knew we had a bday girl at the table - even requested a song from the singer since he was doing shout outs for the other 2 parties. Not a mention not a word so that felt disappointing and fell flat. Would I go back again...maybe

Food was fabulous with generous portions. We had the caprese salad and the Cajun pasta for the starter and main course. Although the salad could have used more basil the pasta had a lovely blackened sauce and great sausage. But the crème brûlée was mind blowing. The incredibly rich, buttery taste of the cream was a delight that the perfect sugar crust only made more amazing. The restaurant has a lovely ambiance with an impressive wine tower that connects the two inside levels. The patio looked tempting but it was a cold and blustery day and we cuddled up to the fireplace. Service was great and kudos to Hannah for making the fireplace work!
