We were at Toro burger a few weeks ago. I tried a burger out of curiosity. It was the Hawaiian burger. A combination of sweet and savory. I was feeling adventurous. I must say it was pretty good. My husband is a traditionalist but he said it was a great burger.

I would give less that one star if it was possible. I am a diabetic. I noticed my numbers were starting to trend down so we decided we wanted Toro Burger. Previously the service was good. This time.... It was my husband son and myself. At noon we were the only people in the entire restaurant. It took over 5-8 min to get the drinks I ordered a mojito and it tasted like watered down sprite. I couldn't finish it.my husband and son ordered a beer. They also barley drank any. My numbers continued to drop so we had to waive our hands in the air to get the waitress to come and take the food order. All we ordered was simple off the menu items. We did not have any substitutes or special request. Keeping in mind it has now been at least 20 min we have been in the restaurant. A pair of gentlemen came in about this time. They ordered. As you could imagine we are starting to get irritated. There was enough staff there that we could have each had our own waitress. We had now been at the establishment for around 30 min. Im starting to feel dizzy and disoriented. The gentlemen who came in after us received their food first. So my husband went to the window to get the food that was sitting there. Keep in mind the waitress was to busy joking with the cook counting the money (on the same counter where the food was waiting) and playing on her phone. My husband was told that was not his food. He told them that I was in need of food and to hurry. The manager (i assume this as he did not make introductions or inquiry into the problem) came over and started berating my husband for trying to get the food. I tried to explain that we had been waiting and that other patrons were being served ahead of us. He talked over me and would not let me finish. At this point having been informed more that a few times that I really did need to eat. He informed us that he had the right to refuse service to anyone. (at this point I wasn't sure what service he was refusing as we had not had any service up to this point.) we left as requested and went to another establishment where we were served and almost finished our meal in the same time that TORO burger kicked us out. I would not go back to the restaurant in the District manager himself served me. IT was abysmal!!!

Giving 5 stars because of my amazing server Olyvia! She was so kind and professional, and I felt like I had made a new friend immediately!My card got declined, as I’m getting paid tomorrow and was low on funds, but she and her manager Lacey worked it out, and Lacey covered it. They were so kind, and my burger was delicious.

First of all, the service was horrible, the waiter never checked in with us, the only thing they came over about was the drinks, food and the check. the whole building smelled like spoiled milk, we took the outside seats, and the tables were never cleaned off for what seemed like days. the bathroom was mediocre, and the AC unit was so loud. we waited 5 minutes for our drinks, I ordered a root beer float, but I got a Dr. Pepper float instead. after 30 minutes I got my food. I ordered an all-American burger, the waiter never asked for how to cook the patty, so I got a burnt, dry patty, the bun was stale and dry, the plates were chipped. the whole experience was awful. I would not recommend coming here.

Visited the area for work with a buddy, Toro immediately catches my eyes. The atmosphere feels warm but they only had 1 server so there was a bit of a wait. Apart from that, customer service was excellent and their burgers are one of the better ones I've had. The elk burger was fantastic and worth the price, and their draft beers are cold & great. Excellent place to wind down after a long day. Should I ever have business in Lubbock again, I will definitely be back.

Definitely needs new workers. Went today for there 6 dollar burgers and we waited TWO HOURS for two burgers. (Just the burgers no fries) then our waiter only checked on us one time before our food came out a hour later. We asked to speak to the manager and only responded we got was “we have a new cook it’s his first day” no apology or anything. Then after the manager left the waiter would not speak to us and handed the ticket to us VERY RUDELY. Definitely will not beComing back.

Food was good, came here for my birthday and I’ll admit we came at 9pm because I couldn’t get a babysitter in time. This was my pick but when I went the server made me feel bad for even going, telling the kitchen sorry that they had to cook. I get it, I wanna close the kitchen early and get home too when I work but it wasn’t like I came in at 9:50. Second, chick sweeping, I get you wanna help get your friend out of there but it was a little unsettling having chairs scrape like crazy when your trying to enjoy the only night you ever get out. Definitely never eating inside ever again. But I appreciate you guys and we still tipped.. but yeah. We work customer service. You shouldn’t make your customers feel bad just for choosing an almost empty place an hour before it closed.

I come here a lot and it’s usually a great experience but today was absolutely terrible to the point where i’m not going back. Me and my boyfriend arrived around 12:40 pm tuesday afternoon. I ordered the loaded buffalo mac & cheese and asked for no blue cheese. When it came out I got the buffalo mac and cheese sandwich, which I told the waitress (Jacquelynn was her name) that I had ordered the loaded buffalo mac and cheese. She argued with me that I said the sandwich but my boyfriend was with me and knows I never order the sandwich and the sandwich doesn’t even come with blue cheese like the mac and cheese does. Following this our waitress grabbed the food forcefully and was very mad. She was so mad she even ran into a chair and slammed the door open to the kitchen. Keep in mind we can hear what she is telling the cooks about me. She came over and told me it would be 10 minutes and I said “okay i’m sorry” because it was very obvious she was mad. She said in a very rude tone “it’s fine!”. Avoided our table for the majority of the time and made me feel very bad for wanting what I drove 45 minutes to come eat. I love the food but I will not be coming back, I don’t like people yelling at me and treating me terrible.

Terrible food. All of it. Not one single item was good. Burger burned, so dry I just gave up. Fries are not - fried I mean. They were mushed fry shaped potatoes with no crisp and no salt. Fried pickles were so fried they were nearly black and tore up the roof of my mouth. First and last try.

We ordered two burgers, both medium rare; One of them was so overcooked it was crispy the other one was cold-rare. Neither burger had any flavor and both were missing the signature sauces that were suppressed to come on them. The truffle fries were soggy and had no salt on them and the fried pickles were so over cooked that the pickles were dry. The only edible item we ordered were the churros, which were quite tasty.

We were sat at 6:47 and at 7:40ish we were told our order was never put through. I had watched and saw everyone in kitchen just standing around on phones and could audibly hear another server talking bad about a table that she checked out wrong. Then even after I asked how much longer it was going to be they didn't bother telling us about the mishap. I love the food from here but service has gotten worse and worse. Our server was new and it definitely was not her fault but it's clear those who were on shift were not willing to help show her the ropes.

3.5 stars... mostly for the young lady that was awesome with her recommendations and knowledge of the menu. Breaded wings were alright. Love the Jameson sauce. Fries made well, turkey burger was ok, grilled chicken sandwich was well made, carrot cake was ok. The drinks were the best part.

This is a burger place very much like Twisted Root in that they have some pretty unique burger toppings and flavor combinations. Wish the meat patty was seasoned a bit more, but overall a very good place. Price-wise, it is on the steep side for sure. Good burgers, but I've had better in Lubbock for less money. That's really the big problem with a lot of these "high end" burger places. However, if you're fine with the price, this is a great spot to eat.
