You’re gonna pull up and go “Is this the right place?” If you want maybe the best you’ve ever put in your face, then this is DEFINITELY the place. Stopped on a road trip and had the best experience. The owner(I’m assuming he was the owner. You could tell he took pride in what he does) was super cool. Explaining all the cuts they had to two obviously travelled dudes looking to crush some bbq. I had the “Bum.” With CARAWFISH Sausauge and brisket. My brother had the beef rib. Both were beyond delicious. I will stop here from now until the end of time if I’m this way from KY. Why are you still reading? Go get this bbq!!

This place isn't fancy. It is a good country BBQ place. Their BBQ is very good and tender! Prices are reasonable. They also have delicious desserts!

First, the Texas BBQ was great. Brisket and charro beans. My son had pepper Jack sausage sandwich. Portions on the sandwich were almost too much. Owned and operated by a former Elvis impersonator. A great Texas experience

I cannot give this place high enough praise! The brisket is lean tender and delicious. The pulled pork is also excellent. So are the ribs, sausage, potato salad, and Texas toast... It's all delicious! Portion sizes are excellent. You won't go away hungry! Environment is a classic Texas BBQ joint which we love! The best part though was Donnie, the owner, who went above and beyond the call of duty by helping my daughter find her retainer which she had accidentally thrown in the trash. He was so friendly and kind and clearly he knows all the locals by name. Thanks Donnie!!!

I cannot give enough praise for Best of Texas barbecue! The brisket was lean and delicious, the pulled pork was amazing, and we loved the barbecue sauce. Ribs and potato salad are excellent as well. Great size portions...you won't go away hungry. But the best of all was Donnie, the owner, who went above and beyond the call of duty when my daughter accidentally threw her retainer in the trash. He took the trash out, dumped it, and sorted through it to find it for her... What a champ! I was already going to give them a five-star review but now if I could give 10 I would!

Excellent food and friendly owners make this a true hidden gem. From the time you walk in until the time you leave they make you feel like family. It is some of the best barbecue I have eaten!! I got the "double" sandwich with sausage and chopped brisket. Donny put enough of both on the sandwich to feed three people. His homemade barbecue and "rib" sauce was a perfect compliment to the flavor of the brisket. I wish I had bought some more for the weekend. They are only open on Thursday and a Friday from 11:00 AM until 3:00 PM (or until they run out, which I bet happens more often than not.) I am looking forward to trying the ribs next time. They looked delicious!!

My husband and I found this place on our way home from vacation and we could not have asked for a better note to end it on! We chose the restaurant based on reviews and we were NOT disappointed! Doni fixed us up with a sampler plate and every bite was delicious! The brisket melted in our mouths, the pork ribs were perfectly cooked, and both types of sausage, including the alligator, were great too! My husband said the pinto beans were the best he's ever had! Marianne's key lime pie was pure perfection as well - not too tart, not too sweet! All her other homemade desserts looked so tempting it was difficult to choose just one!The leftovers fed us two more times and the meat was tender and juicy even after being reheated in the microwave. My only regret was that we didn't have an ice chest so we could bring more of it home!As good as the food was, the whole experience was made even better by the wonderful time we spent visiting with Doni and Marianne. They were both so warm and friendly and they shared many fascinating stories about their lives and time in the entertainment and restaurant businesses. Great food, great conversation, and the great "been there forever-stepping back in time ambiance" they have created-who can ask for anything else??Make it a point to stop by as many times as you can. It will be time and calories well spent! I have a feeling you will never be disappointed. And bring an ice chest!PS-this place should be named the Best of the US Barbque Smokehouse and not just Texas-no other barbque place rivals this one!

Finding a place like this is why people take road-trips! Some of the best bbq ever. The brisket is absolutely delicious. We tried both varieties. The pulled pork was tender and wonderful. The ribs were perfect.Don and his wife are gracious hosts. Save room for pie! The homemade lemon was worth it.

I was looking for a great brisket sandwich while driving on I 20 in Marshall Texas, and was so thankful to stop by this place! Just a few minutes off the highway, but excellent food, excellent service, amazing atmosphere, and perfect prices! Donny and Mary Anne put out some of the best barbecue you'll have, and even through a little bit of extra fat in the sandwich for me upon request! Tried some of their smoked bologna as well as their deviled eggs! Just like grandma used to make! Do yourself a favor, make sure you stop for a meal when you pass through Marshall! You won't regret it!!!!!!

This is Doni Simmons reincarnated restaurant of the same name that closed a couple years ago. Same location, same super friendly service, same awesome food and most of the old menu! Doni Beans! A new jalapeño cheese sausage that is a little hotter and his same awesome smoked bologna! Same awesome burnt end brisket! Now he is also a smokehouse too. We will be back weekly.
