“This isn't just some corner bar in a small town, it's the epitome of a old school Texas tavern! Friendly, down home service, and the food is far better than you should expect for bar food. Any of the chicken entrees and burgers are pretty damn good (I'm sure the other stuff is good, we just keep going back to our regulars). And they have live music several nights a week and we've seen some really good talent there. They have ice-cold beer and great specialty drinks, but I'm a rum guy and they only had one kind (which I wasn't particularly fond of). After jokingly giving co-owner/manager Jim some grief about it, the next time I came in I was surprised he had stocked the bar with one of my favorites! Thanks Jim! Don't miss this if you're visiting Lockhart. It's right on the historic square, so it's a great spot to stop in after visiting the shops and galleries. Sadly we live an hour away, or else we'd be in here every night! And remember to TIP your bartenders and bands!!!“

“Happy accident to have landed here when there was live music! Showed up with my gf/df mother and my five year old. We all found something to eat that we liked, and enjoyed the show. Staff was helpful and friendly.Kid-friendliness: Open outdoor seating and small kids menu“

“Location is the highlight! We sat on the patio while the sun set and tons of folks floating, paddling, and swimming in the river. Food was good, avocado toast and BBQ Mac n' cheese were the highlights. Brisket and coleslaw not so much. Service was slow, our server preferred hanging out with younger customers and chatting, but overall good and will return.“

“My son played at the black star baseball friend. Was looking for a good place for lunch before heading home. I like finding places that are local to the areaI visiting. The building is historical brick, has the the look and feel. Jessica the /bartender/waitress was ready to serve. I am a little picky when it comes to my beer selection but she didn’t not disappoint in letting me try some of the local brews I haven’t heard of letting me find the right beer for me to enjoy. I asked what was the most popular items to order for food, she recommended the wings and burgers. “These for sure are the most ordered.” Well my son ordered the wings and said he loved them. I ordered the basically burger and nodoubt it was awesome. Fresh meet made to order ready to go, bun was soft. If you want condiments it comes in packet form. But you shouldn’t need much with this burger, was very flavorful and I would recommend this place to anyone looking for some sports on tv, cold beer, and a good burger or wings. It’s told my wife to remind me next time we have games in Kyle cause I want to go to this place for burgers. Hope this help people looking for a non franchise local place to eat.Dietary restrictions: DairyKid-friendliness: The waitress/ bartender Jessica was super friendly and accommodating.“
