“My kids love to eat Chinese food. This is the place I will take them to dine in. The only thing I did not like is that my daughter wanted to take her Pepsi. The lady up front asked for the drink. Instead of serving the drink in a cup so she could take. We had paid for the drink already. This why I gave a 3 star in service aside from food and atmosphere. I would recommend this place. “i am not exaggerating when i say this is my favorite restaurant. i am now 24 and had been going to this restaurant for as long as i can remember, and my parents had been going to it long before i was even born. for a long time this was the only chinese restaurant in mcallen and a lot of my family's first time ever having chinese food was here (if i remember correctly, it's taiwanese). i have literally traveled all over the world and cannot find a place that tastes exactly like lotus inn. those who have been coming here for years know for a fact that the same family has been running this place since the 80s and you can really tell it has that home-made, grandparent-made flavor. their chicken and cabbage soup is the most comforting soup and i miss it so much. i always get their chicken chow mein and it's really hard to find that exact flavor anywhere. the closest i got was a random taiwanese restaurant in london. there is literally no other place like this for me and my family! i hope they re-open soon and that it has the same flavor! thank you for bringing chinese food to south texas out of all places! 太感谢了！我希望我再次可以吃你们的菜。“

“The food is always great at the restaurant but I expected the same on a delivery and I didn’t get the sauce for the chicken wraps that was a little disappointing, the shrimp order seemed a little smaller than at the restaurant. I love their food but it’s not the same when you order for delivery.“
