I went there a few times while in McAllen. I got mangonadas both times because they were that good. The prices are very reasonable and the vibe is really cool. I felt like I was in Mexico 30 years ago.

def 0 stars zero stars staff was rude food smelled like. old dirty. mop water chicharon stunk up the whole place I took the food to. n the tortas was made w soft soggy bread. I asked if it came with a baggy of salsa the way most places give u k ow. n the man that cooked the tortas looked at me like I was crazy n was like ( lo pedistes con Todo verdar?) n I said yes n he was ( vienes con jalapeno en vinagre) and I said how about salsa and he said I can buy one if I wanted. then before that even happened I asked if I can purchase an ice cream while I wait. n she said that I needed to get in line in Spanish like I was a kid. I look to my left n their was only one man being attended already by another staff. the old lady at register seemed like she didn't like her job , even the torta man . hates his job. and only one young man was nice to me from the get go. but other then that I left feeling so unwelcomed n with my feelings hurt. almost cried when I told my bf about it. overall nasty as well. . I won't be going back their ever. TREAT YOUR CUSTOMERS BETTER!!! AND FIX THAT DIRTY WATER THAT HOLDS THE CABBAGE CAUSE THAT HAS TI BE WHAT WAS SMELLY. AND THE STAFF NEED TO CHANGE THEIR SMELLY ATTITUDES!

The best hidden in plain sight ice cream spot in Mission! Great staff always friendly So many outstanding ice cream flavor choices like: Ferrero Roche, Coconut, Cookie's and cream, Butter Pecan, Mint chocolate chip & many more!! The Mangonada was great as well

Holy crap, I want to live here. Almost a day does not pass without me thinking of la chula michoacana. The mangonada is the best I've ever had, ditto on the paletas (Mexican Popsicles). I dream of their strawberries with cream paleta, with huge chunks of fresh strawberries and impossibly rich and creamy ice cream. I can't wait to try everything on the menu!
