I love this place, the food is great, specially the salads, service too and it's a fun place to hang out club style but being comfortable in your table. The music is great and service too.

Food is overpriced, service slow and complete rip off for $70 hookah. Took and hour and a half after ordering to get my food.

First time in. Beautiful modern restaurant. Our server Edgar was excellent: very attentive and polite. Quick turnaround for the drinks and meals for our table of 10 people.Going in I assumed I would be forced into a high dollar bill, but the menu definitely offers a variety of items that fits all budgets. Even the drinks were fairly priced at around $10.I will definitely be returning. It was a really fun evening and the servers work hard to create a great experience for their tables.

The atmosphere is like no other! Beautiful scenery and tons of places for photo ops! The food was delicious and a great variety of food! The server was very attentive and helpful the entire time! We loved every moment we were there! Definitely recommend it for any kind of special event!

The ambiance at Tabu is so beautiful, perfect for date night or even a cute place to grab brunch/lunch with the girls. We made a dinner reservation and we're seated at the "Jungle" & had a few cocktails. My favorite drink was the Itzae I definitely recommend. The shrimp aguachiles were also a must 10/10. My husband and I spilt a Ribeye which was tasty but a bit fatty but other than that we had a great experience! I even got to take home some of their cheese cake for dessert and it was the perfect night cap. We were so pleased to find this hidden gem in downtown Mcallen.

I have came here before as my first time and had an amazing dinner and drinks! The second time, not so much. Our server, Sergio, was not very attentive to us and was extremely rude when we needed to close our tabs. It took about 50 minutes to receive our check when we had asked several times, and never got a truthful answer. He seemed very frustrated and overwhelmed even though he only had 2 large tables. I understand it can get busy, but at least be respectful and more attentive for your customers. Before we received our checks, he was constantly going to another large table about 4 times, before he finally gave us our tabs. I also ordered a rib eye show and there wasn’t a show at all. The food, drinks, and the vibe are top notch amazing, but this server experience was not great at all. I spoke to the hostesses up front and asked for a manager, but all I got was a apology from them. I’m hesitant on coming back again after this experience, sorry, but I was truly disappointed.

One of the best places I’ve been so far, wanted to treat my self and attend something new and different here in the valley... Excellent service, very welcoming since outside the entrance... My waitress was super attentive, My dinner was very pricey and of course super good tomahawk steak plus they make the show on serving you with the drinks and food...???

Had high hopes but it was one disappointment after another. Went around 8pm and it wasn't very busy. There were maybe 3 other tables that i saw so i was expected service to be decently fast. I was wrong. Service was incredibly slow. Probably took about 15-20 minutes just to put appetizer order in, another 15-20 to get actual order in. The ceviche was good, but the fettuccine con pollo was really disappointing. The chicken was a fried flattened chicken patty instead of grilled. The pasta was nowhere near the quality i would expect for $25. The last insult was a 27% gratuity that was automatically added to the bill for a party of 2. Even their "suggested tips" on the bill max out at 25%.So, TL;DR: slow service, disappointing food, and an automatic 27% tip added to bill for 2 people.

The place was amazing. I loved the music and our waiter Checo made sure everything was to our tasting. He went out of his way to make a great impression on our first experience here.

It's a bit overpriced for what you get, the aguachiles were ok, I don't understand the BBQ chips (from a bag) served as a side with the shrimp. The atmosphere is enjoyable although the lighting was too dark to see the rareness of the steak or the occasional soggy shrimp I couldn't see only felt once I chewed. The attire seems to be formal/club attire.Overall it was an experience, but not somewhere I'd choose to dine again. Tip for Tabu: if your server isn't going to cut the lettuce head in show of skill combined with a proper toss, don't bother bringing a whole head out to cut on the table, it looked clumsy and lazy. It wasn't impressive.

Food was really good and the setting was very nice and classy . Would definitely come back . Only downside for someone who doesn’t speak Mexican was the the waiter didn’t speak good english .

The environment was great! They had an acrobat, jazz player, fire ring person and lots of bottle sparkles. The Caesar salad was amazing but the actual dish we ordered I think it was called the seafood jungle and it said it was cooked shrimp and scallops and when they brought it out it was raw. I didn't even bother telling our waiter because it would have taken forever for them to bring out a new dish. It was basically ceviche which was upsetting. Service does take forever so expect that going in.
