Great breakfast and lunch specials, good people and service, and delicious home cooking all the way around! I grew up going here with my family as a kid, we all did, and still love it. So this place is a very rare gem . It is what you see is what you get. 1950’s hole in the wall dinner. The very best around. Everyone here is awesome, but there’s one special lady that’s taken our (me and family)hearts , that Candy . She’s full of spice and vinegar filled up with spirits. Either you love her or hate her. Well we absolutely love her.

Severely disappointed. My friend and I enjoy breakfast places often - especially dives with long histories and culture - and have been to Bill Smith's before and had a lovely time. Today was likely our last time there because of the manager. Our waitress was pleasant and patient, but when the manager brought out our food, the manager chose to belittle and bully our waitress for indicating on our ticket that we preferred no butter to be used, as requested for dietary reasons. When I apologized as the patron for the request (which I didn't need to do), the manager proceeded to publicly patronize our waitress with depreciating and humiliating language for all in the dining room to hear. Our waitress was visibly shook from the experience, and from what we could observe, it was clear this happens frequently. From our point of view, the manager is out of line, a bully, and a risk to the success of the well-established and iconic restaurant. As we exited the restaurant, we overheard the manager continue to proclaim depreciating comments about the lack of coffee and silverware to everyone. It was a scene, unprofessional, and highly distasteful. Despite our passion and desire to support local business, we will not be returning as long as she is there.

The staff is awesome! This place takes me back to the diners my dad would take me to breakfast at when I was a kid. Now I get to take my son here and we love it. We always look forward to our Sunday morning breakfast, little Grayson loves all his breakfast moms and grandmas lol Now, I'm not sure why Yelp! seems to be hiding this gem. I did a search on the app for cafes, American (Traditional), and Diners. I searched for each individually and all together from my location that is around 10 miles away. None of those searches returned Bill Smith's Cafe in either the list or on the map. I had to search for this specifically by name, it was the only way it showed up. Why is Yelp! hiding this place?

In the area for graduations. Found this place on Yelp and all the reviews were so positive. Went there Saturday morning for breakfast the wife and I. She got the corn beef hash and scrabbled eggs and biscuits. I got the two over easy thick cut bacon hash brown and biscuits. Was so good and the staff so friendly we went Sunday morning before heading home. We shared waffle pancakes and had eggs and biscuits and thick cut bacon. May not look great outside or inside but don't let that stop you. The food and the staff are great. Will go again soon f back in the area.

It's very old and looks it. Ceiling is in need of repair. The layout is weird as there's four dining rooms - it looks like they added on time and again. Waitress must have been new so while nice did not offer a tea refill or dessert. It wasn't clear whether I should seat myself - need a sign. Also need a sign since they only take cash. Had to ask if I paid the waitress or at the door. Parking lot has pot holes.

We came here after seeing the awesome reviews but were disappointed. You know if a breakfast place it’s good by their coffee and their coffee was watery with no flavor. Food was bland. Needed a spoon for the dry pancakes that fell apart with a touch and some of it was doughy. Swiss omelet had no swiss in it, it was another cheese that ruined the dish. None of the restrooms have changing tables, no baby friendly. Felt uncomfortable in the tight table layout. Biscuits, total cost and service were okay thus the 2 stars. We gave it a try and won’t come back.

This place is straight garbage. The people are the only thing worse than the food. Bill smith should be rotting on hell.

If conservative was a place this would be it. I get looked at funny when I eat here because I have many tattoos and piercings, but they are nice enough and the grub is good! It's not anything spectacular, but good. And they're prices are good too. I wouldn't go all the time, but every now and again When I do go to Bill Smiths cafe I enjoy my meal, and the atmosphere.

Well I am not one to write reviews about a place but wow from the time my wife and I walked in, I did not feel very welcomed. The only person that was nice at all was our waitress, she was very sweet. The food was good but the atmosphere was very uninviting. One woman that worked there treated our waitress very poorly, don't know if that is just the way she is or if she was just in a bad mood. That is bad business if you ask me.. The cashier was rude as well, I was trying to get cash out to make change for a tip, she rudely ask if I was going to leave a tip. I had given my card to pay and finally got the cash out to make change. I did not know someone could make chang and give it back you rudely but I guess it could be done. So disappointed with this experience this place was highly recommended, oh well , I would not go back or recommended this place.

My husband and I were in McKinney having some work done on our motorhome and just happened upon this ‘little’ gem. I say little but that really isn’t so. From the outside it looks like a little cafe, but when you walk inside, you see that 4 dining rooms incorporate the entire building. We were so impressed with the food, the prices, and the service! We are retired from 48 years in the restaurant business, and for the life of me, I don’t know how they can make money with their prices! Very Reasonable! The food was served hot and fast by their very friendly staff. We ate here twice and we will be enjoying this ‘little’ find the next time we are in Mc Kinney. A great big thank you to the entire staff for a job VERY well done!
