The food was fantastic but Sam our waitress elevated the dining experience to a new level. She was attentive but not pushy. She answered all our questions, even what type of grapes the ice wine was made with. The true star is a carrot, served as a tribute to his mother. The steaks and duck were great but the carrot was extraordinary. Most places can cook a prime cut steak but this carrot. It is simple and tender. Sweet but not overdone. I have eaten Berns in Tampa and Christner's Prime in Orlando and this place is on an equal footing.

Food was superior. Attitude was a tad uppity. We were in town for the National D2 NCAA championship game. One of us wore a ball cap. 2 of us wore university logo clothing. The looks! Oh well, in the end they found out we tip swell and our money was very, very green. I think the FOH staff liked that fact....

We had excellent service. We had a crab cake for an appetizer and for our entree we had a filet. Our filet was cooked exactly like we ordered. It was perfectly seared on the outside.

My wife and I dined at Bob's in McKinney on March 12 for our Anniversary. This was our third or fourth visit there. There were some issues the last time but the General Manager Dan Martinez had responded quickly at that time and encouraged us to return. We are glad we did as everything was as good as we had always expected, our Server Jay couldn't have been more accommodating and the Filets were excellent,as usual. We continue to highly recommend Bobs Steak and Chop House.

Good, not great. Happy I came for a pharmaceutical dinner so it was a free dinner! So many great steakhouses in the DFW area that this one did not stand out. Steak was extremely salty and fatty(even for a ribeye), but more importantly, who the hell wants a giant warm carrot with their steak?! :)

When we made our reservation, we mentioned twice that it was our 33rd anniversary, but no one knew that when we arrived. We were given a horrible table where all of the waitstaff entered an exited the kitchen. We asked for an open booth, but were told it was reserved. We were then sat by the bar. My husbands steak was overcooked, because they said could not cook a steak medium plus, only medium or medium well. We were given a free dessert for our anniversary, a brownie fudge sundae, but the brownie was so overcooked we had to cut it with a fork and knife. Our waitress was very nice. We just thought it would be much more of a memorable experience. We have been to Flemings, Capital Grill and Oceanaire in the past, where they greet you with champagne, have customized menus, and staff signed cards. Our visit was not made to be special, we felt like just another number. We won't be back.

My wife took me to this location for my birthday recently; can't say if the food was good because we left before ordering food. As we entered, I noticed a photocopied page at the front door which said GUESTs are asked not to wear ball caps. I had a nice black Titleist hat on, but removed it to respect their wishes. After we ordered drinks, another party sat at the table closest to our booth and I noticed that one of the females in the party was wearing a faded blue ball cap, and since she was not asked to remove it, I put my ball cap back on. Within 5 seconds, a person who I assume was the manager approached me and advised me of the policy and asked me to remove my hat. I discretely pointed to the female wearing a ball cap and the gentleman simply told me it was their policy and that I should comply. Needless to say, we told our server, who was a very professional and pleasant man, that we were leaving after we paid for our drinks. He told us the drinks were on him and he apologized. We tipped him directly since we had no bill to pay. As we exited, I looked at the photocopied guidelines again and because it did not specify gender, I went back in to bring it to the manager's attention. He told me that she was a female and I emphasized that the paper said GUESTs. When he began to stammer as he assembled what was sure to be a lame, unjustifiable explanation, I stopped him and told him he would not be able to explain it away and that we would not be returning. His response was, "That's fine with me" ..; let that soak in. Without customers paying their unreasonably high prices, they're just another Texas Roadhouse. The icing on the cake is that I wrote to the home office the next day and haven't heard anything back. Clearly because they care deeply. Disgraceful.|

Jim was great, he is very personable and fast. The food was perfect and the cocktails were very reasonable for the generous pours. My wife and I had a quiet dinner and it was such a great night! Well done and if you keep the quality experience going forward, we will be regular customers at this location!

It was the best meal I w had since I moved to Texas 2 years ago. Professional staff, great ambiance and the signature carrot was a meal in itself

A Stellar Dining Experience at Bob's Steakhouse in McKinney, TX We dined here in December 2023, and I must say it was an outstanding experience that left a lasting impression on me. From the moment we walked through the door to the last bite of our delicious meal, every aspect of our visit was exceptional. Firstly, the ambiance at Bob's is warm and inviting. The classic steakhouse atmosphere, coupled with subtle contemporary touches, creates the perfect setting for a memorable dining experience. The attention to detail in the décor sets the stage for what turned out to be an unforgettable evening. Our waiter, Jay, truly elevated our dining experience. From the moment he greeted us with a friendly smile, it was evident that we were in good hands. Jay's knowledge of the menu was impressive, and he offered insightful recommendations that perfectly suited our preferences. His passion for the culinary creations at Bob's was contagious, making us even more excited to dive into the menu. Speaking of the menu, the selection at Bob's is a carnivore's dream. The steaks were phenomenal - cooked to perfection and bursting with flavor. The attention to quality and the expert craftsmanship in preparing each dish were evident in every bite. The sides were equally impressive; the loaded baked potato was a showstopper. Jay's impeccable service continued throughout the evening. He was attentive without intruding, ensuring our glasses were never empty and checking in on us at just the right moments. His genuine enthusiasm for making our dining experience special did not go unnoticed, and it truly added to the overall enjoyment of our meal. The dessert menu was the perfect finale to an already fantastic evening. Jay recommended the signature chocolate cake, and it was the ideal sweet note to end our meal. Rich, indulgent, and beautifully presented - a dessert lover's dream. In summary, our dining experience at Bob's Steakhouse in McKinney, TX, was exceptional, thanks in no small part to our outstanding waiter, Jay. Combining a welcoming atmosphere, delectable cuisine, and top-notch service makes Bob's a standout dining destination. We left with full stomachs, happy hearts, and the certainty that we'd be returning to Bob's for another memorable meal. If you're looking for an exceptional steakhouse experience in McKinney, look no further than Bob's - and be sure to ask for Jay!

Too noisy too many people too cramped We were placed at a table directly inline with waiters going in and out of the kitchen, other patrons bumped us multiple times during our meal.. not a good seating location

Although Bobs food and service was great, the table was in a tight corner adjacent to the bar which was noisy. Several people standing so close to our table that it was uncomfortable.

Pleasant evening. The noise level was distracting. Good service. Servers kept water glasses full. Food was hot. Service wasn't fast but to be expected in a fine dining establishment. They gave you time to enjoy each course. Gave us comp dessert for our anniversary.

As parents to young children, you take advantage of when your in-laws are in town and wanted to go out with my wife. We've been to Bobs before at the other locations but first time in McKinney. Loved the look of the place with dark lights. Food was fantastic as always but what really stood out was our waiter. He went above and beyond and made a normal dinner into a memorable experience. My wife who was just drinking a normal Merlot asked him about the wine menu. He then mentioned that he was a training to be Sommelier and gave us knowledge in a down to earth manner. Then 10 minutes later he came back with 3 different wine glasses for her to taste and experience different flavors while explaining the differences. Small things like that take it up a notch.I don't remember his name but if you read this, thank you for the amazing service and we will be coming back for-sure.
