Burger was good, but for $15 it was the size of a McDonalds dollar patty. Still hungry. Also, I asked for pickles and paid to add onion strings and didn’t receive either. Meat was good, but should be like a $6 burger. Guess I’ll have to go eat a second meal somewhere else to actually get full.

Burger restaurant just of the square in downtown McKinney. We ate on the dog friendly outside patio. Burgers and fries were great. Waitress was very helpful and friendly. Definitely recommend.

The food was absolutely delicious - the burgers were juicy and flavorful, cooked to perfection. Perfect atmosphere for a casual dining experience with kids. Not to mention, the drinks were top-notch - refreshing and well-crafted. Overall, I highly recommend for anyone looking for a great burger joint with excellent food, atmosphere, and drinks.

I wish I could leave a zero star review. This restaurant smelt like dirty mop water from the moment you enter. We waited for someone to greet us but we were just ignored by the entire staff just standing around talking to each other. Take your business elsewhere there are much better options on the square.

Let's start with the positive. Loyo is a fairly new addition to the vibrant downtown area of McKinney. It is convenient to get to, just a short walking distance from "The Square" and an easy stroll from any of the parking in this area. The company did a nice job creating an inviting rustic style setting to visit with friends in the spacious dining room. The menu offers a nice variety of burgers with the traditional side items, and even a salmon burger for those wishing to select something other than beef. Our party of five placed our orders at the front counter, grabbed our drinks, and settled in to eagerly await our food. It was when the food arrived that this evening took a downhill turn. Starting with the salmon burger ordered by my daughter, she took one bite and spit it out, declaring the sandwich inedible. Surrounded by three other salmon lovers, each of the other family members spoke up, wanting to try a bite, not believing that her entre could be so bad. The salmon burger was cut into pieces and passed among the others willing to participate in the taste test. Again, two of the three removed the bite from their mouth, the third finished his bite, and quickly concurred that this was not the item to order. Feeling bad for my daughter, I handed her my card and sent her back to the counter to purchase the burger of her choice so she could still have dinner. As the drama with my daughter is unfolding, my son has moved from eating his sweet potato fries to taking his first bite of his burger. He quickly turns and holds his burger for me to see, and housed between the buns is a raw piece of meat that has had just enough sear on the surface to color the meat. No, I am not talking about rare or medium rare. They placed an uncooked pattie on his sandwich. So now it is necessary to get his burger corrected. In the meantime, my daughter's replacement burger is delivered to the table. She takes her first bite, and I hear "Oh my God." Again, we have had a raw burger delivered to the table. At this point she was done. For myself, my wife, and my son-in-law, all of whom actually received properly cooked food the first time, we found the burgers to be unremarkable. Definitely not a significant step beyond fast food. Given the inconsistencies of the kitchen and the less than favorable impression on what they did get right, we will not be returning. The only recommendation I can make here is to take the few step back to center of downtown and look for Square Burger if you crave a tasty meal.

I heard really good things about this place unfortunately I do not feel it lived up to the hype. Expensive for what it is and food was definitely lacking..

Delicious burgers, tasty fries & super crispy tots! More of a chill restaurant. You order at the kiosk and they bring you your food. Will def be back!

Food is good. Hamburgers are delicious and the tater tots are outstanding. The fries are a little soggy and not crispy. Service is quick and friendly. Definitely a go to place near the square.

Interestingly enough the buns and condiments were very good. The burger itself was overdone and tasteless. I had the Loyo burger and my wife had the breakfast burger. Loved the onion rings and martini but those things won't bring me back.

It's a nice looking place but the burger just lacks any kind of taste and the fries are soggy a little slimy even. The service is good but not worth coming back.

The ingredients seemed fresh and high quality, the atmosphere is nice, but whatever chef designed the menu screwed them. EVERYTHING that should be savory, tangy, spicy, is just.. sweet. My 14 yr old daughter lifts weights every morning, does boxing every day after school, and then rollerblades most days for relaxation. She eats like a horse (8 TACOS for dinner last night). SHE left half her bacon cheese burger.. My other one took 2 bites of her chicken sandwich, made faces and left it. I ordered the spicy one with grilled jalapeños and it too was sweet. I tried everything on the table and it was all overpoweringly sweet. I like smokey grilled flavor meat, tangy mustard, and crisp dill pickles, the recipes here are the opposite of that. If that's your thing, go for it, but this isn't for me. I'd only go back if they scraped the menu and let an adult put those ingredients to good use

Tried Loyo today. There are pluses and minuses. Parking is terrible. I had the Loyo burger and onion rings. The burger tasted good but not any better than other burgers around. The burger was small for $11.00. The onion rings were not that good. Tasted like bought from a distributor and just fried. See Scotty P's for the target onion ring. Bill for wife and I was $32 with tip. I will not make a special trip to go here again. I do like their sister restaurant Local Yokal.

We went to Loyo Burger when they opened and everything was really good and tasty. I enjoy good flavorful hamburgers and they delivered.
