Sunday night 9pmish still had a good amount of people out on dates, eating with family, and more. Chill indoor outdoor place, upbeat funky jams, lively outdoor terrace space. Great for pups, and small to larger groups. $5-$7 for 16oz Cold Draft Beer!!The outdoor place is fun with different leveled areas. Love love the design of the outdoor space! The many aged trees within the patio space really makes the outdoor vibe. Theres lots of heat lamps around, and shade from either umbrellas or trees.Beer cups are plastic. Must mean this place can get pretty crowded and rowdy? Fun place. It is less about a mile/22min stroll from Hutchin's BBQ. We ate bbq, and strolled off our food to Historic Downtown McKinney...full of a variety of shops, restaurants, bars, etc. Almost everything was closed on a Sunday 9pmish though.They seem to have weekly events too like Tuesday Bingo Music night.

The outdoor patio vibe is outstanding! One of, if not the best patio in all of DFW. The staff are super friendly and welcoming. Unfortunately, the food is always such a let down. Tonight we ordered the chicken Tinga nachos and that was a highlight for us. The frozen cocktails were too dense and hard to enjoy. I switched to an Old Fashioned and what I got was overly sweet. I had the blackened mahi fish tacos and this dish was a major let down, the fish was not blackened! I think the fish was cooked in an oven, it was seasoned, but 100% not blackened! the quality of the corn tortillas was below average. I really don't understand how such a nice place with a fun vibe serves food that is intentionally mediocre. Our food tonight was not an oversight, it's intentionally average. The restaurant group that runs the Yard also operates Union Bear and the Suburban Yacht Club, so they know how to make good food. For some reason they are ok with keeping the Yard a few notches below par from a menu perspective. It's a shame, because this restaurant venue is so good and it screams for better food!

Nice location, great ambiance, quick service. Our server made on point recommendations to tailored a pescatarian and a carnivore.Also a recommendation from Jake our server, bear IPA. It was cold and refreshing, suitable for the day and the weather.Highly recommend stopping for a bite at this place, for me top burger in the Mckinney, Irving and Copel area.Keep up the outstanding work and service.Vegetarian options: Delicious pescatarian menu

Looked like a cool place. Went up to get a table as there were at-least 5-6 tables open outside and they told us it was a 45 minute wait. We asked if we could sit at an open table and they said ‘no’. I guess if they want to turn away service they’re doing a good job. Won’t be back as first impression wasn’t good.
When the weather is good, this is the best place to go to in McKinney. The atmosphere and food are great plus the staff is very friendly!

We love the Yard.I would have given 5 stars but I gave 4 because, they are still using Styrofoam for takeout at the restaurant. For a natural environment set at this restaurant doesn’t fit to use styrofoam that is harmful to people and environment. As a loyal McKinney resident, I am hoping owner will change this very soon.
