This has got to be the best restaurant in Nacogdoches! The stuffed red snapper was absolutely fantastic! Even the steamed vegetables were super flavorful! The hush puppies, the shrimp, oh man it was all great! And service was perfect. I highly recommend eating here if you want something that tastes good!Parking: Plenty of parking, though you might miss the entrance to the parking lot since it's on the side, rather than pulling directly in from the main road.

Delicious food and great service. We chose to eat outside, because the music was so loud in the dining room.

I've eat here several times since they have moved to this place and way before back when they first opened a long time ago elsewhere the taste hasn't changed still good clean food they are very consistent ? you don't get that much .their shrimp is great. The bathrooms are wheelchair accessible and decent but like a maze lol don't get lost! ? the young man that waited on us was doing 5 jobs at once it seemed he was definitely working n doing a good job .Kid-friendliness: Decent..but does have a bar inside.Wheelchair accessibility: Decent

I really wanted to like this place and considering everyone that I've talked to about the Baymont, said good things. My experience was contrary. Every time I ordered grilled shrimp, it was overcooked and rubbery. The fried foods are out too, everything that I ordered from fries, catfish, shrimp, to oysters have been soaked in grease and unappetizing. For the prices to some of the menu items vs. what you get, is not worth it at all. Over hyped.Parking: The location of this restaurant is shared with a local bar.

Went for dinner while in town visiting family. Food was so good. We got the gumbo and it was delicious. The fried catish was light and cripsy and the grilled flounder and veggies were delicious.

I went there 2 weeks ago and had the jumbo shrimp dinner. The bartender was great, and the chef did his thing! However, there were some regulars who were apparently from Texas that made the experience a tab bit unpleasant. They began talking about Obama being voted in only by a certain group of people, cotton picking, and a few other racially sensitive topics at the bar.Granted, I am a police officer from Georgia, so I've heard it all before... therefore, none of it really bothered me. Mind you, I'm also a black republican so the Obama comment was just ignorant.Nevertheless, I would return and eat there again given the opportunity.

Tried the grilled blackened catfish and shrimp with mixed vegetables and dirty rice. Excellent choice. Every thing cooked perfectly.

Place is shabby and not in a good way. Pricing was average for average food.

We chose this restaurant for dinner because of the good reviews. However, it did not live up to those reviews at all.Perhaps we should have reconsidered when we drive up and saw that it appeared to be using the name "The Shack" with a smaller sign indicating "Baymont Seafood." The menus still said "Baymont." They seem to be having an identity crisis. The atmosphere was more drugstore cowboy than rustic fish shack, which is what I think they are going for.Service was slow, and our server seemed very tentative. We had to repeat everything item we ordered because he would ask us to repeat each thing before he would write it down. It was not loud, there was no crowd, and we looked directly at him as we spoke. My oysters were subpar. They had the strong taste and smell of fish that has been held in the refrigerator for a few days after thawing. My spouse said Red Lobster's fried shrimp is better than what he got here. What they did get right was the catfish. My husband's combo plate had 3 large filets, and they were prepared well. The grilled vegetables were very good. And I was pleased to see that the fried foods were well-drained and not all greasy. The egg roll appetizer consisted of 3 giant egg rolls that had a salty exterior, which I rather liked, but they were served with packets of very blah sweet and sour sauce. The prices are good, and you get a lot of food for your money. But quantity does not equal quality, and sacrificing quality isn't worth it.

I WISH I could give this place five stars. The food is great and the service is good. However, I hate the fact that, if you want something from the bar, you have to start a separate tab because there are "different owners". Not my problem.Put your customers convenience first.

Went there for lunch and enjoyed the best fried catfish plate that I have had in a very long time! The fish and fries were cooked perfectly and we were well taken care of by the staff!

Their fresh crawfish is amazing, so tasty just the right amount of spice and seasoning. This will definitely be my new favorite spot of fresh crawfish. Their shrimp platters are also wonderful and do a great job at catering as well if you need that. If you haven't been give them a shot they won't disappoint.
