Very courteous & accomodating staff. Very clean throughout. Ambience is nostalgic and inviting.Rooms: Although the "cozy king" is small, it is well appointed & plush. Very comfortable & immaculately clean. Look forward to returning ...maybe in a poolside cabana!Food & drinks: The Cafe food is great, but room service (twice now) is served like "to-go" food. Styrofoam containers, plastic forks, spoons, minimal on effort. Try your steak or salmon dinner with plastic utensils. At a place this nice & swank, use real plates and utensils for room service. How about a real napkin, too? Buy carts and trays. You charge enough for it. Plus the fast food style service is cheap and gauche. Your hotel is too elegant for that level of room service.NINE FLAGS BAR!! Excellent every time. Great bartenders. Nice selection of drinks & great beer on tap. Can't go wrong in Nine Flags.

We stayed here last Thursday night on a date night package in the beautiful and luxurious Executive Suite. We had an amazing time. Everyone was so friendly and helpful. The bed was extremely comfortable. Loved the body wash so much We bought some in the gift shop to bring home. Dinner at the steak house was so good, I told my husband I thought I would choose it again as a last meal request, lol. Breakfast was wonderful in the Cafe as well. Love the nostalgic, magical feeling of the whole place. You feel as though you have stepped back in time to a simpler time. I think this is quickly going to become our go to place for special occasions. Our thanks for such a wonderful time and excellent service to the entire Fredonia Hotel and restaurants staff!Rooms: I think I covered that above. Rooms in every size and price but check out their packages for the best deal. Our room was the next to largest in the entire hotel. Very luxurious and comfortable complete with mini fridge and a couch and two chairs and a dressing area as well. We toured the entire hotel once previously so we knew what each room type looked like in person. The very largest room has a kitchenette, ours just a mini fridge and microwave with pod type coffee maker with coffee and tea podsNearby activities: As I said, very nice town square, lots of historic homes and gardens as well. We toured one of the homes last time.Safety: No concerns for safety. Hubby is a retired cop. We felt very comfortable walking around both day and night. Plus, the food is so wonderful there would never be a reason to drive anywhere to eat or to drink when you can safely skip the drinking and driving by staying there for it all.Walkability: We walked the square in town and checked out the shops and walked across and checked out the brewery after supper. We sat in front of the fire pit near the pool and visited with another couple who had just eaten at the steakhouse as well. It was relaxing.Food & drinks: Amazing. Drinks were unique and they had classic drinks that were popular in the 50's and craft cocktails of today. My tenderloin steak was so tender I believe I could have cut it with a fork- best steak I have ever had, and I have had quite a few! Sides were delicious as well. We reccomend the corn and the scalloped potatoes. A shout out also to our wonderful waiter, John, who was one of the best waiters we have ever had, and we eat out a lot.Noteworthy details: This is a fifties hotel, beautifully and luxuriously restored with meticulous attention to detail. You truly feel you have stepped back in time to a place with a staff who truly knows how to treat their guests and are highly trained for their jobs.

If you're in town on business, looking for a nice comfortable, quiet room to get some r&r in.....this is NOT the place. Loudest hotel I've ever stayed in. Will find another place to stay next business trip.

Hotel layout sucks . We had a room that was close to pool and they have a bar and fire pits so drunk people just hang out and are very load. If they had told us that when we asked for a room we would not have booked or stayed! We called desk 3 times to have them ask bar guest to quiet down and got no where. Room was old and pillows were hard and stiff. We tried turning on a/c fan to drown noise but you can’t leave fan on all the time. Once hit temp it cuts off. Tv also cuts off after 2 hours. It had Vuitton to override but it did not work. It was expensive to stay at this hotel and it was horrible . Go somewhere elseNoteworthy details: Don’t stay here

This used to be hands down the best place in town with the most history and the best atmosphere. However, the last 2 times we’ve stayed they have messed up our reservation. The first time, they checked someone else into our room under our name. The manager could not explain how someone could display ID and still get checked into a room in our name. The second time, despite us having a reservation and showing the front desk our confirmation number, they were unable to find our reservation in their computer. That reservation had been booked directly on the Fredonia website. This is still a beautiful hotel, but they have some serious operational issues they need to work out.

As A Fellow Small Local Business Owner We Take Pride In Communication. I Hate To Say That We Received Horrible Communication, And Follow Up From The Front Desk Staff (Emilia) And Hotel Manager (Candace). We Provide Party Bus Transportation For Clients, We Have Picked Up And Dropped Off There Many Times Over The Past Couple Of Years. But 2-3-24, We Had Concert Rides Going There To Eat From Lufkin, There Was A Car Blocking The Driveway (Delivering Food). So We Pulled Beside The Car Close To The Handicap Ramp To Let The Clients (Group Of 15) Off Quickly And Safely. Once They Exited (Less Than 5 Minutes), We Where Getting Back In To Drive Off And Park Across The Road When Emilia Decided To Rudely Tell Us Not To Park There. We Told Her We Was Not Parking There, But Just Dropping Off. She Proceeded To Tell Us The Same Thing Over Again, So We Asked About The Car That Was Beside Us With No One In It. She Say They Are Hotel Guests (Come To Find Out They Wasn't A Guest But Delivering Food). So We Asked To Speak To A Manager Due To How We Were Treated. Candace Wasn't In But We Spoke To The Restaurant Manager And She Seemed To Be Understanding. She Said The Way Emilia Spoke Was Not Acceptable. A Few Days Later We Reach Out To Candace, She Started Out By Telling Us That We Were In The Wrong And That It Didn't Matter That The Car Was Blocking The Driveway And Also Dismissed The Way Emilia Attitude Was Towards Us And The Fact That She Flat Out Lied. We We Never Stay Our Use This Hotel. And You See In The Pictures, We Were Barely Over On The Smooth Concrete (Handicap Side)

Beautiful hotel. Love the vintage feel and flair. Everything was in good repair and clean. I stayed in the cabana room, which I do not recommend if you are a light sleeper and bothered by noise. I did eat breakfast at the restaurant which was good but could have been better for sure. Overall will stay again next time I am in the area.Rooms: I don't recommend the cabana room because of the street noise.

Went to Fredonia to have dinner with my wife today; 1-26-24. We purchased the TEXAS CHARCUTERIE BOARD, CHIPOTLE SALMON and KOREAN TACOS. The wife also had two beverages, MEXICAN MARTINI and CHARDONNAY. Total was approximately $74-$77 for the both of us not including tip. I later check my statement and to my surprise, I am being charged $144.86; nearly double the original total. After speaking to the manager the following day, Mike Garcia, noticed I was billed for the incorrect meal and made it right. Just letting this be known, CHECK YOUR STATEMENTS! Mistakes do happen!

I booked the Tower Superior Suite for a small surprise family gathering to celebrate my father's 70th birthday. I was able to decorate the room and have my father to come to the hotel and shortly after his arrival the room began getting cold. Maintenance came right away. He advised he would go get a new unit and begin the replacement. On his return he stated the fix would take several hours and at this point he did not bring a new unit. I was then told I needed to contact the front desk for other options to resolve my issue of not having heat. At the front desk I spoke to Harris. Harris was very professional and sympathetic with my situation. He offered to move me outside to two rooms that did not connect. I stated no that does not work. I booked the suite for the size and the ability to have my family in one room. And, may I add I was going to be charged an additional fee for the price of the two rooms. I advised that does not work for me and I am having to move because the heat in the suite does not work. I asked for the manager on duty. He advised there was not one. I asked again is there no one here in management that I could speak to. He stated no. He then advised he would try contacting his supervisor. He shortly returned to the front desk and advised he had two connecting rooms outside that I could move to. I would need to remove all my things out of the suite in the tower and then he would process the move. I took down all decorations and packed everything up and returned to the front desk. The move was processed and I was able to move to two rooms with heat. I was displeased with the amount of time it took to resolve the issue and how persistent I had to be to get the issue resolved. Lets just say my dad will never forget his 70th birthday.
