We had a great experience with our two littles under 4. We checked the most recent reviews and found that people were having a great experience so we drove over from Houston one afternoon and back. We tried the Jager schnitzel, marinated beef, and sausage platter (bratwurst was our fav). The salad was yummy and so was the garlic soup. We also tried the cabbage, sour kraut, potato dumplings (think big mashed potato ball doused in gravy), and apple strudel. We went early and called in a table about 2 hours prior. It was full the whole time we were there and mostly reservations with just a few walk-ins. Also I don't prefer rye bread however there's was the best rye I've ever had and very glad I tried it - very soft and fresh versus dry. To top the evening off, a talented young man moved from room to room playing his accordion around 6pm as we were leaving. Definitely a must try.

This was our first visit to this amazing sweet, quaint and adorable restaurant. I was stationed in Germany back in the early 80s and loved the German food there. I've been looking for some time to find a really good authentic German restaurant. I have found my authentic German restaurant. The staff was amazing, the food was amazing & the German beer was refreshing. What an awesome experience. We live in San Antonio we plan on returning as often as we can and bringing family and friends to come and enjoy what we enjoyed today.

for a great all-around experience! It's located in a historic German Adobe home with limited seating. Decor was lovely and homey but not kitschy. There was an extensive German beer list and the 3 we tried were great--you MUST try the Rochefort Trappist 10! I had the roulade with roasted potatoes and salad and the hubs had goulash. Both were great but we should've split the roulade between us because it's HUGE. A young man was playing polka standards on an accordion in the dining rooms which made the experience even better. The service was attentive and helpful. If you like German food and beer, you'll like this place.

THE BEST GERMAN FOOD!!! If you have not been here do yourself a favor and try it. The food is incredible. Atmosphere is really charming and we love the musician playing the accordion. Some of my favorites here are the jager schnitzel with spaetzle. At lunch the schnitzel sandwich, which I add a side of jager gravy to pour over the schnitzel and then put the bread back on top. So yummy!

We found this little Gem on Trip Advisor and so glad we did. My family of 6 got seated right away by a friendly hostess. It was good team work by 4 people getting our food. We ordered an assortment of dinners and all were plated fancy and delicious. The portions were large as you can see by the pictures I posted. The service really was great. Reasonable prices for the quality and quantity of food we got.

Make reservations because it will be busy. Also, they have a good selection of German beer. I highly recommend the Jager Schnitzel.

Went there with a party of 4 on a Sunday. Everything was fantastic. Service, ambiance and food. We had the Brie appetizer and the Jager and sour cream schnitzels as well as the Black Forest cake. Loved everything and will be back. Atmosphere is quiet and charming. All the staff were friendly and attentive.

Best waiter I've ever had the pleasure of experiencing. His name was Conner. I had the goulash which was delicious. I grew up eating it the American style with pasta and... grape jelly, which is how my Grandpa and Father ate it. I didn't know it was a stew!

Left with a great impression German food. I'm not too familiar with German cuisine so it might more Tex German than true German or it may be completely legit! All I know is the food tasted great and the service was exceptionally great. Connor was our waiter and he was very accommodating and professional. The ambiance was extremely cozy, loved that too.

What can I say other than everything was perfect! Starting with our waiter Devon who was just awesome! He was very informative, helpful and definitely seems to love what he does. He helped us make some amazing choices for dinner as well as recommended beers that would pair perfectly with our meals ( not just the ones recommended on the menu). The meal was also amazing and was one of the best ones we have had since moving to New Braunfels! I highly recommend stopping in as we can't wait to go back!

It was a happy accident that we ended up here but boy am I glad we did! What a wonderful dining experience and the food is amazing! We just added this place to our list of favorites! Save room for the Black Forrest cake, you'll be glad you did!

Close your eyes and walk into the Alpine Haus and when you open your eyes, you will be in a little restaurant in Germany. Atmosphere is perfect, especially when there is a local musical talent entertaining you. Food is deliciously authentic, add a German beer and don't forget to share dessert. I recommend reservations as it's usually crowded.

We have a coupon from the mail. Went in at 140pm for lunch(closes at 2:00). The girl said they were closed, they told us to leave! So, don't think we'll know if their food is good. They clearly don't need our money!

The best schnitzel I have ever eaten. I had the the Rahm Schnitzel made feom veal. Tender and delicious with a great sour cream gravy sauce. The spatzel was home made, flavorful and had a slight crispy edge to it. My wife had the Rinder Goulash. We have had German style goulash at other restaurants but this was made from large chuncks of super tender beef, green, orange, and red bell peppers, carrots all served in a delicious gravy sauce over the same previously described spatzel. Top that off with a couple great glasses of wine in an old historic brick walled building with excellent service. We will be back! If you've had German cuisine and thought “Well that wasn’t bad”, You won’t say that after eating here, this was some ognthe finest food I have had.
