Decided to stop in during lunch and order takeout on the way home. I ordered a cheeseburger and fries along with a garden salad. I didn't have to wait long to place the order or have to wait long before it was done. The order was correct. The meal was tasty and fresh.Vegetarian options: Had some options for a vegetarian since I ordered for a vegetarian in my home. This was the salad.Wheelchair accessibility: There is a couple of handicap parking spots since I'm handicap. Everything was handicap accessible from what I could gather while I was there.

Beautiful day for a motorcycle ride into the country, and breakfast was the destination. The Texas Star Cafe for the bill perfectly..I arrived not long after they opened and it was already hopping; about half the seats were full. Still, the waitress arrived soon after with coffee..Their menu wasn't long, but I knew from experience that the serving would be Texas-sized, so I had to take a minute to decide how hungry I was. I finally ordered the country fried steak with "hash browns", sunny side eggs, and toast..I put the hash browns in quotes because really they were dice-sized chunks of fried potatoes, not shredded. They were good, but not hash browns..The food was uniformly delicious, the service was excellent, the vibe was country-rancher chillaxed... all of it perfect for my Saturday morning..I'd stopped here several years earlier and had a burger. It was terrific and judging by the reviews, it still is. It's nice to see some things don't change.Parking: Parking is hard dirt-gravel, not much of a worry if you are coming via motorcycle. Parking on the"left side" is particularly friendly for bikes.

Nice drive from Sugarland to New Ulm. Specifically wanted to try this place so out we went. Cool little joint with BIG plates and tasty food. We split a double cheeseburger with bacon and glad we did. Barely got half of it down! Onion rings were terrific as well. Everyone else seemed to be really enjoying their meals. Great day trip location for weekend lunch!

They are fortunate to be the only restaurant in the area. Otherwise they probably would not be in business. Service is great, but the quality from the kitchen has really gone down. It's not that you go there for a gourmet style meal, but you would think they could at least season the corn that is just warmed straight out of a can. Or on some days your only option for a vegetable is green PEAS-really. The hamburger steak is usually overcooked and the frozen french fries taste like cardboard. The beets at the so called salad bar are horrible, and the salad is dumped into the container from a plastic bag. Not very creative with recipes!
