The foods is fantastic! We drive from Orange just for dinner! Great for birthday meals, specials occasions or casual dining. Kid friendly with waterfront views of the port, and usually a nice breeze. Take home the Wheelhouse koozie or frisbee!If you haven't been here, put it on the list of places to try!Parking: Nice, big parking lot.Kid-friendliness: Let the kids chill out on the lawn while they wait for their mell to come out of the kitchen.

Updated Review:I tried again to eat brunch here when it wasn't really busy at all. We were greeted, seated, handed menus. Then 25 mins passed by and that sums up our trip and all interactions. At least last time I received a salad but no drinks. This time I wasn't even acknowledged at all. No one ever came to our table. Multiple people being seated after us were having their drink orders taken. This has happened both times I attempted brunch there and both times it wasn't even busy. As much as I hate to say it, I think this level of service has caused me to not want to go there at any time. I guess I will wait for more development on the waterfront and hope their restaurants acknowledge my existence while I'm there.Previous review:Although our waitress was as polite as could be upon arrival, we never received our drinks, someone else brought out the salad even though it wasn’t busy...just overall the worst service I’ve ever received here, which is sad because I typically enjoy trips to the Wheelhouse but it looks like those will stop now.

Service is slow and the food well not that great! Gumbo was too thick and too salty and the crab cakes taste like they were made with artificial crab meat. Club sandwich was more like a cheese sandwich with ham on it on a hamburger bun not what we expected.

Two times my husband and I have went to brunch, we wait for more than 20 minutes with no one coming to our table to even take our drink order. After watching the 2 tables that came in after us this morning get served we got up and left.

The service and seating is not very accommodating. We had a BD party and we're made to wait on each person before we could sit..couldn't move a table or chair...Seafood nachos were like concession stand food ..The atmosphere is great by the river but not good for a group of people or party of more than 2-3 people.

I’ve been sitting here for 30mins and the waitress whom I’ve seen once just took my drink order.Y’all gonna have to do better that…Don’t tell me it’s busy cause I’m literally sitting here now. No it’s not. And if that is the reason then it’s a failure on managements part for inadequate staffing.Do better!

Great food & service from the waiter, horrible attitude from the entitled gm. Very snobby, persnickety, and rude… maybe will try again but will definitely consider other options before choosing to dine here again.
Waiter was great have been going weekly wait staff and food awesome environment the best , management today - absolutely terrible - my husband was carrying his mug - as he has every time we go today the manager rudely states outside cups not allowed - stated have been bringing and buying their sodas - nope wasn’t happening I understand rules and policies this was the first time anything has been said and there are ways to say things the way she stated was not the most professional could have been handled much better - very disappointed in her style. Had the same server he apologized for her behavior- not that it was his responsibility- excellent service he even remembered what my husband always ordered

Stopped here for the first time yesterday. Beautiful place right on the river. Our server Matthew was great. He was friendly and attentive, helped with food recommendations, and nice conversation. I will definitely be back to eat here again.

My girlfriend loves the water. Where she lives there's no place like the Wheelhouse on the water. It was romantic and fabulous as always!!! The tequila and service were excellent too!!!

We visited here for lunch… had the skinny margaritas and they were not amazing & they were the same price as a reg Margarita.My mom ended up ordering a regular margarita & it was so much better.We ordered the nachos and they also weren’t amazing. Maybe we picked the wrong day or time of day?
