This Shipley's location is old and dated. That's ok IF the food was good. Unfortunately this location is NOT a good Shipley's. I've ordered from many a Shipley over a looonngg period of time; I know they can be good. In addition I've found the doughnut restaurants in this area higher priced than other areas in the general Houston area. The kolaches at this location are .38¢ higher than the Cypress area. Doughnuts are more expensive too. Idk about the beverages as I've never purchased. We've ordered here probably a half dozen times and with the exception of ONE visit the doughnuts & kolaches have been bad to awful. The yeast doughnuts have been over mixed to the point they are dense and tough. The glazes have been too sugary; yup sugar can be too sugary. The kolaches have been over baked leaving them tough & in one instance nearly burnt. **Check kolaches BEFORE you drive away. Sigh. When even the kids won't eat them you know it's bad. We've given them a fair shot so we'll pass on future visits; unless there's a sign advertising 'under new management.'

$5 for a 1 cinnamon role, and it was also raw. I get inflation but it's a donut. You have low business volume because you have overpriced a donut. The more you raise prices the less you are going to sell.

I prefer Shipley donuts to others however just not this location. The store hours are advertised to be open at 430 am daily however 10 min after 5 am on a Sunday morning they still weren't open for business. The better location is down a little farther past Deerbrook Mall. Donuts are always fresh and the staff is polite. Pat's Donuts is a great alternative to the Shipley Porter location. It's a few feet away & they're open at 4 am to 1 pm daily unless otherwise noted on the door. Pat's sausage & cheese kolaches are pretty good in my opinion.

I grew up with Shipley Donuts so I was excited to learn that there was one so close to my new home. Unfortunately these donuts and kolaches are so heavy and dense, nothing like the airy and light ones that I remember. I thought it was maybe a bad day but the quality is consistently disappointing. Also the walk-in lobby is always closed after 11am; only drive thru. Employees are polite though.

If I could put 0 stars I would. They are only available with drive thru and when I pulled up no one spoke thru the mic. When I asked hello I got, "I'm busy with an order, you'll have to be patient." Shocked I backed out and went down the street to the local donut store and was warmly greeted.

So, I never thought the day would come when I would actually be disappointed by a Shipley's donuts but something is off at this location. My ham and cheese kolache was super heavy and full of solid baked bread not the pillowy soft bread with a hollow center for the cheese and meat. I also ordered an apple fritter and was shocked to discover a giant ball of fried dough that weighed about 2 lbs with apple filling inside. This is not an apple fritter, at all. What happened? They used to make good kolaches and excellent apple fritters....I would rather go to Pat's Donuts at least they are reliable in what they serve. This was a huge disappointment. ?

Cold donuts. Got here at 730. Why are your donuts not under a heat lamp??? Why drop so many at a time ???

Extremely nice and fancy donuts but extremely expensive and overpriced crazily.

I stopped by this morning and got a dozen mixed donuts, donut holes and a chocolate milk. The ONLY thing that was remotely good was the milk. Opening the box looked like they smashed everything together. I tried the donut holes and they were hard. So I left those alone. Then I got to work and my employees and myself tried the donuts and they are disgusting! They are hard and taste like they are days old. I used to love the glazes donuts but now yall can't even get that right. Spent $20 there. I should have just followed my instincts and went to Pat's. Most likely will not be returning any time soon to waste my money at your store.
