Listen: I drove a total 30 mins, 15 there and 15 back, for one of the worst food experience in my life. On top of that I spent 15.00 on crap. But let me say this before I dive into my experience. This use to be my go to food place. Their food used to be delicious and on point. However, something shift in that place. I'm not sure if it's the owner, management or the cook. But something ain't right anymore. Here's what happened: I go inside the place and was greeted by a cashier, so far so good. I started to look at the menu and asked if the 6 piece stuffed for 11.99 come with fries. She said yes. I said let me have that. Then I ask for a small drink, she rung it up and pointed at this drink case and said you can get your drink out of there. I looked and there were can sodas, bottle drinks and water bottles. I waved no and said never mind. She then told me that my total was 17.00 and some change. I'm like whaaa!!! I thought this was 11.99. She said the total included the fries and the drink. I said I don't want the drink and refused to argue about the fries, which is an add on. So she popped the draw open and was looking like she was trying to figure out what is the exact change to give back. It took a minute. She finally opened her mouth to say she didn't have any change to give back. Then handed my 20.00 back. I'm like I did not want to use my card, but wondered at the same time, if I didn't have a card on me what would've been the outcome. I'm at a restaurant and cannot buy food because they don't have change, which was a lie. I think she couldn't figure out the exact change, at the moment, so she resorted to asking for my card. So she then told me that my food would take 20 minutes to be ready. I've never waited 20 minutes before, 15 minutes at the max. But I came back in 13 minutes and guess what, my food was ready and just sitting there. Imagine me waiting that extra 7 minutes. Got back home, got comfortable and ready to dig in. Well, the chicken looked burnt, fries looked under cooked. The worst of all, the stuffed rice in the chicken was not seasoned and looked like white rice mixed with something. It definitely was not boudin. I've eaten here before and had never seen and tasted that before. Also I can tell it wasn't boudin because the cook over stuffed my wings with that nasty rice, like he/she was trying to get rid of it. But that will be my last time going to that place. I won't be spending my time and money on poor quality service and food. Owner: if you want to grow your business, terminate your staff and replace them with new ones. People who actually wants to work and appreciate their jobs. Your current cashier always look sad and not happy every time I've been there. She looks the same way always, sad . Also You need experienced cooks back there. Someone who knows food temperatures guidelines and how much seasoning to use on food. Otherwise, eventually people will stop coming. I'm telling you. What saying sounds negative, but please take this as positive a feedback to better and grow your business. Peace out!

Three orders within two weeks totaling $150. Bought the gallon punch. Came in small pouches. Two of them spoiled. Next order: They didn't have the stuffed wings for the online order I placed online. THEY replaced all my stuffed wings with regular wings, added four wing pieces, and thought that was worth calling it even. Ordered a large crawfish étouffée, at best there might have been 10 tails in the whole order. I'm giving a two star cuz I'm not like them. The chicken is delicious but these people are really from m New Orleans. They are terrible and won't get another coin.

The food at Swamp Chicken is consistently good. My husband and I have enjoyed every menu item we've tried and Tha Truth Sandwich, snake fries, wings and tacos are among our favorites. The issue that knocks them down from a 5-star review is the inconsistent hours and service. There have been many times that we've called or stopped by to place an order during regular business hours and no one picked up the phone or unlocked the door. On other occasions, they've been completely out of their most popular menu items -- even buns for the sandwiches -- or told us that items would not be available for a significant amount of time. More than once we've driven off with food and had to turn around and go back because there was an error in preparation or something missing. We live in the area and will keep giving Swamp Chicken a try when the mood hits, but improvements and adjustments definitely have to be made.

I found this place in maps because I happened to be in the area and was hungry. I was looking forward to trying the stuffed chicken I saw on the online menu. It was 8:01pm when I arrived only to find a closed sign on the door. However their business hours state that they're open until 9:00pm. I could clearly see two staff members inside who were coming in and out of the kitchen laughing and what appeared to be listening to music and fooling around with each other. They looked like they were waiting around to officially be closed and go home but they weren't cleaning up the place or really doing anything. The lights were on and the place LOOKED open like it was supposed to be according to business hours. That experience alone will make me never come back. It's very unprofessional to close an establishment an HOUR early because the staff just felt like it.

Clean lobby air and service counter. The menu is pretty detailed, they have seafood and chicken, its a Cajun theme and deserts. The shrimp were spicy and delicious with garlic. The stuffed wings were delicious a little surprise in ever bite with the spicy boudain. The only thing i can say i didn't like was before they fried the chicken they did not remove the excess feathers.

I decided to try them out and was generally excited to try them, however I ordered my food online to pick up at 1 pm (since i was going gonna my lunch break) but when I got there my food wasn’t ready I didn’t actually get my food until 1:25 then it was not fully cooked the batter on the fish was slipping off and the fish had a rubbery texture to it. I was very disappointed with my experience. However I understand things happen and the staff was very nice so I will give them a 3/5

This place is decent, I’ve been here a few times and always get the chicken and waffles. On my most recent visit I noticed that the waffle was different then the other times. This waffle was very dense and had chunks of sugar in it that was not appetizing and I honestly could not finish it. It seems like it came out of a package and not the fresh made square waffles that I’ve gotten before. Also the wings are good but It would be better if the entire wing was covered in the seasoning and not just on one side.

Cant explain this place other than, find a way to get there! This is hands down a hidden gem in Houston. I was a little leery because of the short menu of chicken items, but my perspective made an immediate u-turn as I now want to try the whole menu. I ordered "The Boss" chicken sandwich with fries. The whole flavor profile of the sandwich was spectacular and the fries are not the ordinary as they are seasoned and for the better. I also had the Red Beans and Rice--I have nothing to say but, second to none, they are so packed with delicious flavor that I want more even after I am stuffed from the meal. I will definitely be back many times and 100% recommend anyone reading this to get there now, because you are missing out!

Fish tasted fresh, light and flakey, perfectly cooked. Rice tasted good and the etouffee tied everything together. Everyone was super friendly and welcoming.
Great array of food choices . Very good service but it's a shame they are closed on Sundays

So I called in my order at 7:20 pm guy on the phone said we close at 8 I said I'll be there in 30 to 35 mins he said ok. Can you believe when I got there at 8:05 I walked in and the guy that took my order said ahh yea the kitchen closed and I told them not to start your order. That was very unprofessional. I would've felt better walking up to a locked door than walking in and my food never got started

Wow wow wow!! Everything was incredible!! So flavorful and delicious. So glad we came across this gem! Definitely will be back ASAP!! My father went to pick it up and said everyone that worked there was so nice and made sure everything was good to go before he left. Can't beat amazing food AND great service:) Highly recommend!
