They spoiled not only our dinner but our expectations of good South Indian food in Austin. Running a restaurant is not easy but I cannot recommend this place for food, service or ambience. There are actually better South Indian options in the Austin area.

Inconsistent in food quality. I've been here with my family 3 times. The first time was really good and made us come back another two times. The second time, the food quality remained good, but they were severely understaffed and took forever. This time however was a combination of bad food quality and poor service. The idli batter tasted sour, sambar was stale, and credit card payment was not accepted.

Placed a phone order for pick-up on a weekend , but when we reached the restaurant about 40 minutes later the staff ignored me and made me wait at the location for additional 30 minutes and blamed me for placing the order late (we placed the order at 2 pm an hour before closing, do not understand how that is considered late!) Their Food quality is just average and they even got one of the orders wrong. Will not be ordering here again.

5 stars! The food was outstanding. My husband and I haven't been able to find good Indian food since moving from NYC. We ordered the samosas, chicken tikka masala, chicken vindaloo, and garlic naan - all sooo good! Will definitely be back!

Great South Indian food. Will not disappoint in service or taste. Covid really impacted some of these local businesses, and it may seem like they closed down, but they’re very much open and in business. Show them some love ❤️Personal favorites: All dosas, idli, chicken chettinadu.

If I had a 0 star for this restaurant then that would be my rating. I ordered a tray of chicken curry for 10 people and pretty much there was only gravy in it. Very few chicken pieces, didn’t taste good.. the Porotta was cold and very stiff.Never ordering again !!!!!!!

I m NEVER GONNA COME BACK to this place the staffs are so rude... i order online through their website for pick up but wen we got to the restaurant they said our order never came in and tat their restaurant is closed and theres nothing available.. messing up our order is their mistake and on top of that being rude to very hungry and disappointed customers is just like the last nail in the coffin... tats it ur restaurant has lost a loyal customer.. tropical curry n grill in pflugerville is a far better restaurant than yours .. kindly learn from jack the owner of tropical curry about how to treat customers ..

First of all the food is not great and the reception is also not good in the restaurant. When we ordered Medhuvada 4 piece togo, we got 3 in the box after 1 hour of ordering. We opened the box thinking that how can a small box fit 4 vadas and we happened to see 3 vadas. When we talked about this at the reception after paying the bill, the receptionist asked us to wait for sometime. We waited more than 30 mins and still the receptionsit didnt care about us. We didnt wanted to waste more time and we walked out from the restaurant with a very bad first time experience.Even the food tasted bad that our wait is not worth it. I wouldn’t go or order from this restaurant again.

Absolutely scrumptious! My husband and I had our first real date-night out in forever and Chennai Cafe was A++. Milton and the crew dished up the most delicious and flavorful food! We’ll be back!
Came here with some family from out of town. Gave great recommendations of entrees to try. Very good food and service. The spice was amazing! Will be coming back and telling my friends!

We always went here because the food was good, but the service was poor. But with the new management, both the service and the food are great! We've been going here for about 6 months, and there's been a clear improvement.

Staff was very kind and the food was great. Although there weren’t many people handling the tables and take out orders, you could tell that they were working very hard to fulfill all the orders that were coming in!The tiffin food we ordered was the exact “taste of home” I was hoping for from a South Indian restaurant. I may have liked things to be a little bit more spicy, but that’s a personal preference and so regardless of that, the experience was overall very positive for us and we plan to return anytime we miss food from home.
